I saw and drove one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I will say it looks better in person. The 370 blows it away though. Personally, I think the 34 was the best looking Z ever made, with the 240 a close second.

As far as driving, it was a blast. Very fast with gobs of torque. I can only imagine what a couple of thousand dollars of mods can do to make it even better.

If they ever get down to MSRP, I might have to really reconsider one. Right now, my lifestyle isn't conductive to a sports car but I'd have to really think hard if he chance came up.

I'd be surprised if the z is still around in a couple of years, but who knows. They managed to put this out on a shoestring budget so maybe they break even. When I went to drive it, there was a line around it, so the interest is there. I just hope they kill it for good before they either team up with someone else or gasp, make it an EV/hybrid. 🤮

Yes, a 370Z, from '09 to '20 Z, and a black cherry color.

Believe me, you are not missing out even seeing it in person. I saw one on the streets a few months back (pic posted) and it's does NOT have the "wow" factor.

Yeah, there is no beauty in my eye when I beheld the new Z.

IMO, I'm a huge fan of the HR 350Z and 370Z, and should have blended those two together for the new Z.

I can't believe it took Nissan this long to revamp the CSC issue.

As far as the csc, I'm not sure they "fixed" it. They moved it outside the bell housing which certainly makes it easier to service, but I believe it's still the same plastic POS that are ticking time bombs. Could be wrong though.

Before Toyota techs can wrench on the new Supra, a $50K sports car, they must be certified to work on them. With a powertrain and electronics from BMW, Toyota techs must learn the ins and outs of a new vehicle architecture. In other words, they must be Toyota techs who happen to know a lot about the BMW Z4.

Apparently, the Toyota techs at one particular Oregon dealership near BMW of Salem aren’t certified to work on the new Supra yet.

According to this BMW tech with a Supra problem on his hands,

“Toyota just advised me it only needs a battery. Someone left a light on. If they (new Supras) run dead, a full charge and/or replacement is required. “

You’d think changing a battery on a simple Toyota would be easy-peasy, swap in a new one and you’re off. I thought so too until I read the official Toyota Supra manual.

When swapping in a new battery into the Supra, because it’s designed by BMW you must,

Use an OEM battery. If not, you’d better be sure it’s compatible with the Supra because the wrong battery can, “damage vehicle systems and impair vehicle functions.”

Register the battery with the Toyota dealership. If not, comfort features won’t be available.

And, as mentioned, if you’re not Supra certified, you can’t even swap in a simple battery. I assume since the Supra has a BMW engine, BMW specific software like ISTA (Integrated Service Technical Application) interfaces with the new Surpra, something a non-Supra certified dealership won’t have.

To contrast, here’s what it takes to put in a new battery in the 2020 Toyota Corolla. Long story short, Toyota pretty much says, “make sure it fits in the battery tray.”

So there really is no incentive to "upgrade" to a v2 370Z. I don't care if the pricing dropped down next to nothing. It's an eye sore for me and just isn't my taste.
