A cousin in Oregon was looking for a new pickup, both Ford and Chevy dealers wanted 5k over invoice, told him that if he didn’t want it someone else would.

What I did is I joined the MCA ( mustang club of America ) and after 90 days you're eligible to become a Ford X Plan member where they give you [most] Ford vehicles at dealer invoice minus .4% dealer invoice plus $275 fee... it's worth it for the $35 club membership fee. When I asked that same dealership who was charging the $5k over MSRP they said they would honor the X plan. I think most would.

More people are walking away from that deal than walking away with a new pickup. Dealers lost a lot of business but there are still people who need a car. So they know they can get away with price gouging those customers.

my cousin gets the A plan because ford invested like 3 billion into his company.

he bought a Hyundai because ford wasnt giving deals during covid even with the A plan.
