"Twelfth-graders now are more like eighth-graders from previous generations, waiting longer to take part in activities associated with independence and adulthood, according to Twenge. They are less likely to go out with friends, drive, go to prom or drink alcohol than Gen X 12th-graders were. They are more likely to lie on their beds and scroll through endless social media feeds. They may be physically safer, but the long-term effect on their mental and brain health is a big question mark. Twenge told me that she 'saw just a very, very sudden change, especially in mental health but also in optimism and expectations … between millennials and iGen or Gen Z.'" So we now have 8th grader-mentality when the new generation legally enters adulthood :shakes head::facepalm: |

From what I understand, Social,Security and Medicare will still be paid since they come from a separate trust. From what I can figure this is like having a credit card that you’ve spent up to your limit. You can call them and have you limit bumped up, but if you continually spend up to your limit and make only minimum payments (interest), you are NEVER going to pay that card off. The republicans in congress are willing to raise the credit limit to pay what is owed, but insist on cutting spending. IOW, your $1000 credit card gets its minimum payment BUT you can’t charge anything else to it. You need to stop spending money you don’t have. Can someone explain to me why the Dims are so opposed to this? It makes perfect financial sense. Why is Brandon dragging his feet on this? Other than he’s a demented moron…. Who did he think was going to pay for all those TRILLIONS of dollars he spent on pet projects like “infrastructure” “a foreign Country’s borders” and “inflation”? |

Regarding SS and Medicare, I've read both that it would and would NOT be affected  Not like if we can ask anyone because we've never been in this type of situation before lol. IMO, they want to raise the debt ceiling AND not cut back on spending because they have an agenda to finance and fulfill (i.e. student loan forgiveness). Can anyone clarify this? |
good afternoon on a Monday :)

My IRA has already taken a 20% hit since Brandon became pResident. Brandon already said he’s “blameless”. I don’t see this ending well for anyone. Brandon and the Dims are hell bent on destroying this economy and taking the country with it. |

So IF a default were to happen, this would be a first. IMO, it wouldn't just be the stock market/retirement funds affected. It would affect everyday life of everyday citizens globally. I don't even want to imagine the potential chain of events that could possibly be set off by a default :shakes head: |
