It’s ironic that the younger generations complain so much about bullying and “micro aggressions” and as these things have gotten worse, society at the same time has gotten softer and doesn’t allow physical violence.

There are times when violence is the correct answer, but since our society tells folks violence is never the answer, younger people don’t know how to cope and when violence does happen, it always will we are violent by nature, it comes out in incorrect ways like mass shootings.

Young men especially need to fight to get out that aggression and competitive nature that is inside everyone. If you’re getting bullied at school, try to walk away, use your words to give sh1t back to your bully. If all that fails, beat the sh1t outta him, or at least try and go down swinging. It builds resilience and character.

If I went to my dad growing up and complained about being bullied, he would have beat my a$$ and told me to man up and stand up for myself. There’s not enough of that nowadays.

Back in HS, kids used to get in knock down drag out real fights where someone might get knocked out or loose teeth, broken nose etc, the teachers and administrators didn’t care, they knew teenagers needed to get that sh1t out that way or it bottles up and then you get columbine. They’d only intervene if it was about to go to far and someone might end up in the hospital. But I can’t remember it ever getting that bad bc folks knew when they won, or lost as the case may be. No suspension or police, maybe detention if they were caught.

Now, if you beat the sh1t out of your bully, you get in as much or more trouble than the bully. :icon14:

Now, when these people become adults and get firearms, why are we surprised there so many shootings, folks haven’t learned resilience life skills, non lethal violent conflict resolution and like I said, humans are naturally violent predators so if our pack (society) doesn’t teach the young correct outlets for rage etc, we can’t be surprised when everyone is shooting everyone over dumb sh1t. It’s a sign of weakness, both personally and as a reflection of our emasculated society.

A man resolves conflict directly, women tend to brood and stew and then get revenge in subtle ways over time and surprisingly.

When a man stews about a perceived affront and then goes on a surprise spree killing, he is a coward and acting in a femine way to resolve his problem. BUT, since he’s still a man, he acts violently.

Back in high school. My senior year. Me and another kid were throwing punches in front of the principal's office at lunch time. The principal closed the door and called the vice principal to handle it. Me and the other kid were both on the football team. The vice principal was one of the coaches. We ended up in the gym with boxing gloves on. And told to go at it.

"Fed official: People ‘hate’ inflation. That trumps bank stress and job loss".

No MF-ers, if people have jobs, they may gripe about inflation, but still have a source of income. If people get laid off from their jobs, this doesn't make bills and inflation go away. So no, inflation does not "trump" and justify job loss  :shakes head: :gtfo2:

Thats the way to do it. In NYC the cops have something called "smokers". It's a night where a bunch of cops can challenge someone they have an issue with to fight in a boxing ring to settle their issues there. Gets a lot of fights and its a good time.

Growing up, my old dojo would have the same concept. If you had an issue with someone, duke it out (and this was the raw stuff - no padding, no gloves, etc.) and was basically a street fight. The only rule was to squash it once someone got KO-ed. I remember one time getting the wind knocked out of me with a broken nose. 28 years later, that same kid is still one of my best friends to this day.

My oldest best friend got a pair of boxing gloves for Christmas when we were 12 years old. Our favorite game was to play “Hockey fight” you held the other guys shirt and wailed away. First one to let go, was the loser. For some reason I can’t remember who won the majority of the “fights” :icon14:

Getting beat up conditions a person to be able to take a punch in a fight (not that I condone violence).

Beating up and getting beat up was part of growing up. Not sure when society got so sensitive about kids being kids, and getting physically disciplined by parents became taboo.

I remember during elementary school, I was this scrawny@$$ kid and wasn't able to fend for myself. So, I made friends with the bigger kids by hooking them up with snacks (sometimes even did their homework) in exchange for physical protection.

I had 4 Golden Glove boxers plus a few black belts in my senior class. My class only had 119 people.

Stories above remind me of a situation several years ago here in Slovenia.
I'm originally from Croatia - a typical balkan country, but I'm living for quite some time in Slovenia now. Few years ago (me aged 33) going into the store to buy lunch for my lunch break, and I see a dude (junkie looking dude) running out with a basket full of goodies. The cashier shouting behind him, with a desperate face, stopping at the exit. Me in full training, physically peaking, thinking - if not now, then when - I put away my sunglasses and sprint after the dude. Caught him in about 100m, he threw the basket, but as I was just behind him, I nudged him forward. As he was in full running speed, he just fell flat on his face on the pavement, sound like a sack of potatoes being thrown on the floor. Kept lying there, and I didn't do anything else. Just picked up the basket, walked back to the store, looking behind as it about then dawned on me that the dude might hit me in the back with me not looking, but he just kept lying there from what I last saw looking back. I returned the basket, cashier at the verge of tears. Picked up my lunch and went back to the workplace to eat. I then tell the story of what just happened to my coworkers, who immediately start worrying because "this guy can sue you", "you shouldn't have been physical with him", "that's really risky what you did" etc. Me listening, still amazed thinking back about it - who gives a **** about a thief? Because where I'm originally from, the balkan - he's lucky he didn't end up with broken bones, because people there couldn't give less **** about laws, protection, rights, etc, especially if it's such thieving matter.

My favorite was when I jumped 18.5 garbage cans on my bicycle. I remember the wings sprouting outta my arse and coming to the conclusion that “this was going to hurt”. LOL!

I got laid out with my own motorcycle helmet. Was out riding with a couple of friends. Stopped to get gas and lunch. Buddy's GF decides she wants to try on my helmet. After that, she starts to swing my helmet around by the chin strap. I go to get my helmet back. Walk up behind her as she is turning around. Caught me upside the head. The lights went out. I wanted to kill her when I came to.

But yeah, that was basically my response. Let's say that in some crazy *** scenario the dude finds out my name, sues me and brings me to court - I'll have no problem having an alibi of my girlfriend or my workplace, and being a normal citizen, whereas the crackhead on the other hand accused of stealing will have a hard time proving anything. Same reason why I'd do the same thing tomorrow if it happened.
