You know how hard it is to fire people in government? Harder than the Catholic Church (pun intended).

Here's a good example of government at work:
When my father worked as a traffic engineer for the county, there was a policy for discipline. First step was a verbal warning and the second is a written warning. One time after following the policy, his superiors rescinded both the verbal and written warnings because he did not provide the employee with written notification of the initial verbal warning (btw that was not established in the policy rules at all). That employee was eventually fired when he stole a county truck and crashed it on his way home from a bar while he was supposed to be at work. My father left and started his own architecture firm within a few months of those incidents.

Fix campaign financing and a lot of the problems with our political system will disappear. YMMV

:iagree:

There are occasional proponents of campaign finance reform. However, after some time they realize that the status quo is really the only thing that will allow them to continue to pursue a career in politics. So they basically are forced to abandon their stance or be disowned by their party. John McCain was a prime example of this.

Just starting to rain here. So much for working on the Jeep. Think I might look for the exhaust leak on the bike. It's starting to have some pops and bangs on decel.

We now have thunder.

Never thought I would have personal experience with this but holding the Government accountable is a daunting task. Especially when they do major wrong and you got them by the balls. They drag that chit out like nobodies business. They are like cats covering up chit and they got long arms.

Found the exhaust leak on the bike. It's at the joint of the header and slip-on muffler pipe. It's the type of clamp that came with the Leo Vince Ti kit. The clamp is bottomed out and no more adjustment on it. It allowed the slip-on to move. The fix would be cutting some shim stock to size and putting it between the clamp and pipe. Figure I need a piece of shim stock about .030" thick.

You really only need to wash your hands when you shat on them... which only happens twice... maybe three times a week.
