Not sure why there seems to be blind spots with the far right. I moved to Kingman in 1993 just after the Oklahoma City bombing. Timothy McVey and one of his accomplices were from Kingman. The far right is all about moving democracy backwards and is not about being inclusive at all. All those 1 percenter groups are about hate and don't care about nothing but their own ideology.

I know how much some of this is probably geographic, but in my area, Megan and I both got stuck in the middle of a BLM/All Lives Matter protest (didn't know we were driving down a protest route). The ALM group were spitting on the BLM people, who had peacefully assembled, and had a permit. They were screaming profanity, calling them N*rs, and generally being as disrespectful as possible.

Stopping the violence were the police. So we had good police, bad ALM, good BLM people here. I recognize this is anecdotal evidence, I'm just relating my experience.

No doubt there are bad ALM and there are good (peaceful) ALM just like there are bad BLM and good BLM (peaceful). What I'm wondering is, what group has been burning down our cities and attacking citizens with red hats for the last four years. There has to be some organization behind it.

My town and my county is a red as they come and most my friends are Trumpers and good people. I don't have a problem with the right or the left and I chose to swing either way depending on the topic. There was a small BLM rally in our town as it is the county seat. There were all kinds of rumors of Antifa coming to town and folks being paid to come and protest...riot and cause unrest. Not a single arrest with those protesting but there were several arrest made to those in opposition of the march. Lots of folks carrying long guns and calling names.

We got to quit letting the fringe on either side move us from the ideals that we all believe in. Justice for all! All men/women are created equal and that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is for everyone. :tiphat:

Exactly.

My county was solid blue until 2016. It flipped red and stayed red. People are tired of the some old politics and want a change for the better. But neither side is offering anything that is better. Neither side wants to comprise. Pelosi would cut her nose off then work with Trump. Trump wouldn't talk to Pelosi. Had to go through 3rd party.

Exactly. The fringe nut jobs yell the loudest, act the dumbest and get the media attention, which in turn just eggs them on to greater heights of stupidness.

Judge a person on their actions; most people just want to have a drama free life and live it to the best of their abilities.

Yep. work to make things better for the people, I dont give a crap which side you are on. Stop trying to spite the other party or get the upper hand.

Hopefully this comes across well, but how does your neighbor know these guys were Antifa? I'm asking this because despite the fact that I'm involved somewhat heavily in local politics and know a lot of people from a lot of groups, I haven't met a single person who meets that description, much less an organized group of individuals spanning the US who do. AntiFa is a label - anti fascist. As far as the name goes, I'd hope that many of us are indeed anti fascists, but as far as the way I hear them described by people as an organized and violent group of extremist left wing nuts, I'm not meeting them or aware of their existence. On the other hand, I'm very aware of groups like the Oath Keepers.

I'm not unwilling to change my perspective, but what we are encountering in our areas is very different.

It's coming out on the news now that in some of the pictures are known AntiFa members inside the capitol building.

If you in to the history of AntiFa. They use the same tactics as Fascists'.
