Finally got around to dropping the insurance on the Z.

Think I'll go to the basement and play around with the new rifle. Take some measurements for reloading. As this rifle will never see a factory load, only hand crafted reloads.

Still waiting on scope rings for it. :shakes head: Wanted a sun shade for the scope. Found one in the UK. None in the US for a Schmidt & Bender scope. :shakes head: Waiting for that to come in.

What’s the new rifle?

So.. picked up the Nismo from Nissan for an alignment. They put 45 miles on it... Anyone hear about 45 miles being the recommended miles to determine if a car needs an alignment?

NO!!!!!! Reason I have a full car lift at home. Can't go anywhere. Need to apparently now buy an alignment machine. I have a tire balancer/mounting machine already because F'ers scratching my damn wheels. Even scratched my wheels after I put tape and protectors around the lips.

**edit**
Already going through some HP Tuners training materials to take the next step and start tuning myself, although I will use Ecutek. I have no issue reading log files and used to do open source tuning on DSM's.

Ruger Precision Rifle in .338 Lapua Magnum with a Schmidt & Bender 5x25 scope. Should be good for 1.5 mile shots.

Hows the "clicking" action on that? Does it feel smooth? I've seen some shady ones before... Happy b-day!

It is in the mail currently. Redondoaveb makes 'em, maybe he can chime in. It uses the OEM core so I cant imagine the ratchet mech is touched.

Its dead simple to use and the parts are well made. I am at work right now but I can snag some shots of the various parts when I get home in the morning.

That's correct. The ratchet system isn't touched except some grease to make for even smoother (quieter) ratcheting :tiphat:

Who knows what the next administration will bring?

Driven products aka Holley et al got hit with a 800k fine bc flowmaster was selling lths to late model mustang and camaro dudes. The epa emissions regs affect all ice vehicles including gas and they’re focusing on gas and diesel. That’s why apr, part of the driven products brand dropped all their stage 2 tuning and hardware and even scrubbed their website of all their rs3 stage 3 BT 9.0 quarter mile runs. This is goin to start hitting smaller fish like FI at some point too. I know I probably sound like “omg, the sky is falling” but it’s a big deal, mark my words. Ironically, I don’t really have a dog in this fight since our ttrs with a stage one tune, full emissions systems intact, will make 500 hp and on e-85 it’s 565 hp and run mid tens and that’s good enough for me and wifey sine it’s an hpde car, but it’s still feels like this is the end of an era, must’ve been a feeling like this in 1970...

They (epa) came down hard first on the diesel stuff bc of the stupid show and all the idiots “rolling coal” social media vids. Now they’ve put the fear of god into Holly et al and I’m waiting for the next aftermarket co to get hammered. The domestic car aftermarket is bigger so they’re just working their way down the ladder.

Alpha Romeo gulia quadrofolio gt am.

Fvck, I want one. Just watched auto mundial from couple days ago and they covered it. :yum:

Wife still wants a 4c. Too bad I literally don’t fit and needed someone’s help to get me out of it, wound up crawling out on my hands and knees at the dealership coup,e years ago when we looked at one, very amusing to all the other shoppers. :icon17:

Back when Madwi and I originally worked on my car, I got the Z1 pcv side air tubes. These specifically.

https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-pro...ke-p-4752.html

We ended up cutting the set I had into the 1 inch pieces you see below from that plastic baffle to the Cai. Would I remove those plastic baffles and run the pcv to something directly underneath it on both sides?

I'm pretty sure they did. The link I posted were the ones EW told me to get initially I believe. If they're not, which ones are the correct type?

Trying to get the proper tubes in place since the ones we cut are slipping off.

I always try to find stock hoses or stock looking hoses. Even if I have to go to a junk yard and yank them off a totally different car. Just not a fan of Silicone hoses

I have flashbacks of getting the pipe couplings through the drivers side wheel well for turbo. What a nightmare.

Leingod 12-03-2020 09:05 PM

Found an old thread finally discussing those plastic baffles. Supposedly they can be removed and use the Z1 silicone in place of them. I'll go take a look at what the baffles connect to on the lower side tomorrow.

madwi 12-03-2020 09:14 PM

Get some little filters and you can look cool too!
