And, good morning everyone!:hello:

Morning all, happy Friday's eve.

Bagging the garage expansion possibilities. Apparently the cost of materials in my area is up over 40% since COVID hit due to short supply, and the end result is that the quotes I've gotten have been enough to buy me a new house with an intact garage (first guy came back at $100/sq foot, more than I paid for my house! Complimentary meal wasn't even included after the sodomy). Looks like I'm repairing what I've got with a few of my brothers. We did locate a guy who will do the excavation work pretty reasonably, and block work is easy enough albeit tedious. Work starts the 19th.

This is always good for a chuckle.

Susan's Versa started making a really loud and obnoxious sound the other day. Pretty sure she has an exhaust leak up front somewhere. Slight vibration in the gas pedal, sounds like utter garbage when any input is given, and sounds like a fart can in general.

Happy Thursday everyone :hello:

Grandpa is coming into town today and tomorrow to visit a couple of assisted living facilities. We are quite familiar with them as we provided fire and life safety consulting throughout construction on both facilities

They use a doughnut gasket at the cat/midpipe joint. The bolts have springs that keep things sealed while letting things move a bit. Just throw new bolts/springs and a gasket on it.

If it has the 1.8 this is what you need

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/.../+spring,10741

The Walker 36454 is the full bolt and spring kit.

Make sure the gasket is for cat/midpipe as the midpipe to muffler is a different size.

$12 and an hour under it you should be good to go.

Austin temp average for the year doesn't change more than 1 degree for pretty much the last 100 years. So when we have hotter than hell summers, we get pretty cold winters to make up the temp difference. And when summers are mild, we get mild winters. I don't think we're going to see anything too crazy this year as summer hasn't been outrageous. Although we sometimes get some crazy winter weather even with a mild summer - in those years the winter is mostly very warm with a few weeks of crazy cold.
