A guy approached me in a grocery saying I must be on Facebook all the time that is why I wear scrubs and a mask. He said I just make people scared and make them avoid me.

I responded well sir I work in a hospital and stationed at times at Covid restricted hall...and yes I want people to stay distance from me...as his ugly furking unmask face is just 6 inches from my face...

That ugly furking man stepped away, rushed hurriedly out of the grocery after I told him that.

And

I saw multitude of covid19 virus chased him out the door!

True story.

Should've offered to shake his hand as a thanks for the advice.

I can see arguments for this stuff either way. On the one hand, localized rules make a lot of sense. On the other hand, people who come from the outlying areas need to follow the rules of the areas they enter.

For that matter, even when it's in their own best interest, people don't like rules.

I live in Delaware County PA which has a high suburban population density, and I work in Philadelphia which has incredible population density. The number of people I see who not only don't wear masks but also get up close and personal is unfortunate, and it has a ripple effect - the more people who don't wear the masks, the more people who won't. For myself, I don't much care. I'm young and healthy enough that the chance of me being impacted is pretty much statistically nonexistent. But I do worry about my parents and grandma.

Think I just went blind. Some people do not need to wear spandex. Especially white that is super thin. I don't want to see moon cheese, your body parts that you have stuck metal through, your beer belly that is showing between the baby doll top and the short shorts. And your tied dyed 4 color hair. :icon14:

~26000 cases in Philadelphia with 1,579 deaths vs 112 cases and 4 deaths; safe to conclude the 2 areas should operate differently.

I think I understand what you are saying...

If you live in Philadelphia, go visit Rusty's county! :stirthepot:

I worry about my parents, they are in their mid to late 80s. Dad still works 32+ hours as a driver for NAPA. I asked him if he would consider wearing a mask while out and he looked at me and said 'Why? I don't have to get a signature from anyone, I just drop the parts and leave.' Can't fault that logic, I suppose. Mom doesn't get out, she can barely see over the steering wheel and frankly, it's not a good idea if she drives. They do wear a mask at church, but the congregation is really small and the sanctuary is huge, so lots of space between people.

Me, well..... I've got enough damage from exposure to CS, gunpowder fumes and sulfuric acid fumes to cut down on my lung capacity. More than 15 minutes with a mask is enough to make me light headed and unsteady on my feet. :icon14: My fiancee uses a lavender spray on the bed, I can't even be in the room while she sprays the bed & pillows nor for about 10 minutes afterwards.

JARblue 06-30-2020 09:16 AM

I wear my mask in confined spaces indoors and on job sites. That's about it. I can't really wear it outside because I sweat through it in minutes; and that renders it useless so I have to be careful.

Went to Walmart again?

Leingod 06-30-2020 09:22 AM

If I can avoid catching the flu, i'll take measurements to do so. Wearing a mask isn't hurting me at all. Our county is beginning to open up. 30k people total. During lockdown, we had roughly 15-25 new cases daily. We are now into the mid 30's already per day and with more places being exposed as well. This isn't a heavily populated or densely packed area either. So while different regions should have different measurements in place, we are still opening to soon imo. But hey, the stock market is doing well.

Why it's so damn difficult for people to just stay home and wear a mask when in public is beyond me. How is it I can golf each Thursday with a mask on yet morons can't be bothered to even wash their hands after touching all the fruit in the grocery store. Bunch of tools.

Yup. I'm with you on this. When I go into work, the mask goes on. Visit a store, wear a mask. If I'm visiting friends (which is rare - I'm busy with car parts :icon17:) it's dependent on both their exposure and their comfort level. I haven't been to a restaurant since this started except for takeout (2x subway, 1x asian fusion)

The few people I have visited are all in the same mindset as me. Wear a mask everywhere you go, be cautious around others, and just play it safe. With that, we feel safe enough to not wear masks around one another. But we also keep distance still and don't touch the same things.

I ate at my first restaurant on Saturday. We ate outside, away from everyone else by a minimum of 6 feet, and it was just me, Susan, and my dad.

Spooler 06-30-2020 10:48 AM

We stay home for the most part. If we go out, we wear a mask especially now since people are becoming more complacent. Grocery store, Feed store, gas station, and that is about it. We have done take out from time to time. We never eat in.

Seems you know me all too well. :icon14:

Don’t worry Im on your side too... yesterday I was told the patient I was treating was negative of the virus.... the next day was looking for the patient could not find him...I was told his test just came out last night and he was tested positive for the virus... so patient was transferred to isolation restricted hall of the hospital

Charge nurse said...Sorry dude we fucrked up yesterday and we will fucrked you again today!!

Life is so good!

Zoren 370 06-30-2020 02:41 PM

Ok guys I totally agree on both sides the ones who doesn’t want to wear mask and the other who wants to wear mask.

Im a social worker I wont be the guy responsible to have someone get infected of the virus and dies!

Just because I know Im healthy and I will have the attitude.., if I get the virus Im young ...no co-morbid illness... I’ll survive...I will get through it like a flu.

But what about the Others like elderly parents and grandparents you potentially infect and kill?

Think about it...

Are you gonna be playing the role of the angel of death or you will exercise what you need to do as human because you want everyone to be safe?

Covid19 is like playing Russian roulette with the devil.

Do whats is Best for you and whats Best for others.. you will be Blessed!

Zoren 370 06-30-2020 02:50 PM

The issue about mask is like...

Which is better to smoke with a filter or smoke without a filter like second hand smoke?

Who likely get lung CAncer...probably both...who dies quicker or suffers more pain? I dont know the answer.

For goodness sake we even put expensive filters on our cars to keep the engine clean why not your lungs?

Engine can be replaced... lungs dont..... some yes but failed due to infection.

By rights. My lungs should be filled with concrete with everything I've breathed in over the years. :icon14: But I never smoked. I can remember my dad waking up in to morning hacking up black balls of tar from the coal mine. He had black lung. The steel mill workers had red lung red from the iron ore dust.

Rusty 06-30-2020 03:20 PM

They're still wearing masks in China. They never quit. Beijing is going through a 2nd wave now. They have locked down 40 municipalities around Beijing. The leaders have fled the city. But they say that they only have 160 cases at the last count. That's BS.

When my coughing gets bad, I taste what I associate with the corrosion on lead acid batteries.

At Elliott. I did plasma spraying, and flame spraying. Those particles used to hang in the air for hours. Walk into the room with a dust mask on, and have to change it in an hour. :icon14: Used to blow drum brakes out with an air hose inside the shop. Everyone did. My lead and mercury content should be off the chart.
