Thanks guys :tiphat: Not out of the woods yet but looking much better than yesterday. I'm going in for a couple hours tomorrow to make sure everyone has instructions and the last of my material came in then taking a couple days off.

And for the :roflpuke2: about the stubborn that runs in the family. My grandmother broke her hip a couple weeks back. You know pushing 90 and refuses to let anyone help with anything:ugh2: They screwed her back together and sent her home after a couple weeks needing a 24 hour helper. In 3 days she has pissed off both of the voluntolds that are helping her out :shakes head: Just won't listen to anyone.

I'm going to be a peach to deal with in 20 years :bowrofl:

Sounds like my mother. She's gained too much weight because she won't eat right. Doesn't drink enough water, doesn't get up from her chair and walk around and insists that she get a McDouble and a mocha frappe every damn day. :shakes head:

Last year when her brother & sister passed away, I had to drive them to New Orleans for her brother's funeral. Her sister passed away while we were on our way to NO, I was figuring I'd have to drive to NC immediately after her brother's funeral. Karma has an awful sense of humor, her sister's funeral was the same day as her brother's. So no drive to NC. On the way out of NO, we stopped at a Waffle House and she had a meltdown...

I thought dad & I were gonna get tossed in the local parish's jail. :eekdance:

I explained to the waitress that her brother & sister had just passed, and we were in the clear. :icon14:

This kind of reminds me of my mom. My mom was very mobile in her early 80's. She fell out of bed and broke her ankle. Not bad. Stress cracks. She went into a wheelchair. Once her ankle healed. She refused to get out of the wheelchair and walk. That's where she stayed until she died.

In and out of work. Typical monday morning. Just found out one of our suppliers is an incompetent lazy prick. We ordered some 2" rolls of fiberglass mat 10 days or so ago. Well he couldn't figure out where to get it from and didn't bother to let us know :shakes head: Our shop guy is now scrambling to find some anywhere as I needed it today:rolleyes:

I'm getting cleaned up and changed then headed to hang out with mom for the day

There is a Bozo hotdogs right around the corner from the hospital :yum: might have to grab an Italian beef for lunch :yum:

Mom broke her left thigh bone a few years back. She's had that hip and knee replaced and there wasn't much bone between the two appliances. The bone broke causing a fall. She's got a titanium piece connecting the two appliances, so the leg should be stronger than ever, but she got it in her mind that if she could get to using a walker that would be fine. Once she could use the walker, she quit doing any more therapy. She acts like a 4 year old sometimes, having a fit when she can't get her McDonalds.... even though the doctor has told her that it's junk food....:shakes head::shakes head:

Grandpa fell last week and ended up in the hospital. He sat in the ER for hours and no one would even help him go to the bathroom. He eventually tried to walk out and they stopped him, which didn't go over well for the staff.

He called my dad after the debacle and said he was ready to move into an assisted living facility in Austin. Very uncommon for a 94 year old to make that decision on their own accord. Had that ER visit occurred here, there would have been at least a dozen people available to meet him at the hospital.

I've talked to my parents about assisted living, they are willing to consider it. I just dropped the suggestion last year and pointed out that they wouldn't have to deal with home repairs, yard upkeep and the hundred little things that happen. I think Dad's ready to move and Mom will go if Dad does. It's my sisters that are being a pain...:shakes head: So, my fiancee & I are going to take them to look at some facilities and then get on the waiting list (if there is one). After they move, we'll bring in an auction company to sell everything, put the property on the market (1.5 acres on a corner lot in a nice suburb) then put the proceeds in the trust.

Good news over here! Dr say she is doing well and will come off the ventilator later today or tomorrow  Few more days in ICU before they have her at a point they can figure out what caused it and start treatment.

It's looking like I'll still be able to let you scare the chit out of me :roflpuke2: :driving:

Wifey told the youngest boy that when she gets to the point of not being able to care for herself. That she is moving in with him. His reply was, .........well.....I guess to bath you. I'll just put you in a wheelbarrow. Wheel you out to the shop, and hose you down with the pressure washer. :icon14:
