Finance gurus- do you think the interest rates will drop once the expanded UE benefits end for those receiving it stops at the end of July?

Everything I've read points to lower mortgage rates below 3% before the end of the year. I've been bombarded by my mortgage company wanting me to refi, they would call me once a week. I had to finally tell them that unless they could get my P&I payment below $1k, stop calling. Now I get letters from them once a week..... :shakes head:

Banknote.com and maybe Forbes (if it isn't behind a paywall) might be the best places to look for information. WSJ is behind a paywall, so getting information there is tough.

Its a weird time. The employment report drove the interest rate up a couple weeks ago, this week the report wasnt too good, but the stock market is doing well. :icon14:

I think Im gonna go for a rapid report for my credit and see what rates they give me. USAA interest was over 4 before I paid off my debt. My buddys broker said he can probably get me below 3.
THEN I was thinking do I really wanna stay in CA.... But that opens up a whole 'nother can of worms... :ughdance:

FPenvy 06-18-2020 08:57 AM

morning :hello:

love how the weather report was 80% chance of rain sat/sun so i went golfing yesterday just in case.......now sat/sun 20% chance on rain lol

We close on our refi next week. Went from 4.25 to 3.25. Looked at going with a 20yr but the rate wasn’t any different than a 30yr. I also wasn’t willing to commit to a 15yr in this current market. Bi-weekly payments and an extra $150 a month and I turn my 30 into a 15yr anyway. That works for me and I can always dial back to the minimum if needed.

Sounds like a solid deal there! I did prinicple payments on my car loan. 5 year loan down to a little over 2 years.

You arent lying about todays market! Theres so much for me to consider right now its driving me nuts...

I'm not in that end of it. I normally don't deal with customers. Brad is off. So only one person until 12:30. Then I'm gone at 2:30.

How about a 9 day on site job that turns into a 27 day job. :shakes head: Salesman sold the job without even looking at the updated prints. Original equipment was wired for 120V AC. Over the years, the customer added some stuff. Now they have 4 to 20 mA, 120V AC, 250V DC, 480V AC. Took 3 electrical engineers, and 1 dump azz to figure things out. Ran everything through relays.

Show up on site and NONE of your parts are there. Not scheduled to be delivered for another 1 week. :wtf:

Fly out to San Fran. Get to job site. Walk in to the office. They look at you and go :wtf: you doing here? The job was cancelled 3 weeks ago.

Fly to Seattle for a 4 day job. Go in Monday morning. Get our safety training. Walk over to the piece of equipment that's giving the customer nightmares. Look over the equipment. Start laughing our azzes off. Make a few adjustments on the knobs. Equipment is running prefect. Tell the engineer in charge that he has of bunch of knob dickers working for him. And tell him to tell his guys to leave their mitts off the knobs. Was out of there in 45 minutes. Couldn't get a flight back home any sooner then Thursday. So I got stuck in that city for 3 extra days.
