Happy Thursday everyone :hello:

JARblue 07-30-2020 07:33 AM

I am beat to shìt after all day on the water yesterday. Got out there around 6:30 am and finished up around 5 pm. We managed to avoid the rain (2 storm cells on either side of us most of the morning) but the wind was 20+ mph pretty much all day long and the clouds were not friendly either. That coupled with the fact that the hurricane just shuffled the deck on all the feeding areas and currents made for extremely difficult conditions. A few years ago it would have guaranteed a 0 catch day for us, but yesterday we still managed to land 3 in the boat and missed out on at least that many more. I'll post up some pics later

Up right and breathing.

I quit drinking coffee back in the 80's. :icon14:

Started drinking that green caffeine called Mt Dew.

Quit drinking that in the 90's after my golf ball size kidney stone. :icon14:

Been drinking ice tea since.

Rusty 07-30-2020 07:56 AM

Bunk is MIA.

He hasn't been on for a while. Anyone knows what's up with him?

Looking at picking up a set of ultimate Dana 60’s for the heep and they claim to specialize in selling and supporting this product.

Thanks in advance. :tiphat:

Totally forgot about these guys. Austin Jeep People, they always had a good turn out at Cars & Coffee. You might find some info at Austin Jeep People - The Biggest Jeep Group in Austin - Jeepsies Hope this will help.

71F with a high of 89F. 50% chance of rain. Radar shows it's south of here. So it's taking the truck to work.

Maybe he bought into that restaurant and is now learning to be a waiter.

I've successfully quit and successfully restarted my coffee habit multiple times. I blame travel. I have yet to discover an effective way of landing and being able to drive a car through a foreign country after being severely sleep deprived thanks to the red-eye flights my wife always wants to take, all without the benefit of nature's miracle.

The reality is I sleep far better without caffeine in my system, but once I restart consumption, it's pretty tough to deal with the side effects of stopping.

I remember giving guys welding tests to get certificated. There was so much grinding going on. I chanced the name to The Grinding Test. The test was 6", schedule 80 pipe, with a double V groove, 1/16" gap, in the 6G position, using 309 stainless filler, with an inert gas inside the pipe. First 2 passes had to be with Tig, the rest was with stick. 309SS with a stick is a PITA in the overhead and vert positions. It wants to fall out of the puddle. :shakes head: I could do the test in 4 to 5 hours. Some guys took 12 hours and still failed.

Ice tea has caffeine in it. Believe it that I drink ice tea before going to bed. :icon14:

I've got bunk's number, I'll text him when it's human hours out there. I don't think he'd appreciate a text at the ***-crack of dawn... :icon14:

Caffeine doesn't affect me like it does a lot of people. I can drink an espresso and fall asleep lol

JL, I have found espresso to be a much healthier alternative to other caffeinated beverages when I travel. Although I should note that I rarely have issues with jet lag. Unless the time change is 10 hours or more, I'm pretty solid. I also have no issues sleeping on a plane.

Same here. I can pound a Mt. Dew and be asleep in 5 min. LMAO...

I only have issues sleeping when the red blood cell count gets high in my caffeine....

I can't tell if my issue is jet lag or sleep deprivation. I sleep very lightly - the slightest sound will typically wake me - so a plane just means I'm not sleeping that night. At best, I can doze for a few minutes. Flying home, I typically don't have issues, but flying out can be problematic.

My brain absolutely sucks when sleep deprived too - very noticeable to me.

Ghostvette 07-30-2020 11:26 AM

Hey all, I just heard from bunk. He's still on the right side of the dirt. :bowrofl::bowrofl:

He's been busy with work, doggo, taxes (booo) and trying to buy a house that will have enough space for him & his brother. Then of course, there is the associated challenges with finding the right specialists etc for his brother.

I used to be a light sleeper, but instead of the slightest sound waking me, it was the lack of sound. I usually slept not far from the maintenance shelter and went to sleep to the sound of the generator running (hmmmm, could explain hearing issues) but would wake up when it shut off... :eekdance:

BTW, before I forget (which I tend to do a bunch).... I'd like to give a listen to your album when it comes out.
