My gf grew up in the former Soviet Union. She said this past couple months of shortages was nothing compared to when she was growing up. Whenever the store had food to buy, all the neighbors would gather and cook whatever someone bought and share the meals.
Winter time came, each person was rationed sugar, the amount depended on how important you were to the communist party. |
