I was there twice, once as an air force dependent (in K-town), then the 2nd time I was in Freidberg (Ray Barracks) just north of Frankfurt.

Morning all! Have a great day. Jazzy was much more lively by yesterday evening, definitely feeling better, which is very good to see. She'll still get her trip to the vet today at around 1, but I'm no longer quite as worried. Good to see a dog acting like a dog.

:iagree: That’s so great that she’s feeling ing better !
I get such great satisfaction sitting back and watching my dog just being a dog after all she’s been through

1AD. I was with 8th ID just outside of Mainz, and a short stint with 3 AD, then 1 ID. I ate alot of Jägerschnitzel.

Yeah, but they’re quite minor, she still has trust issues with me. Example:
I can’t wipe her off if she’s been out in the rain but my wife can, we have an attached garage so she won’t leave the house unless the garage door is open and she knows she won’t be stuck in there. And there are times I ( not the wife ) go to pet her that she cowers.
It’s a guy thing, and since she was probably abused buy a guy .......
But let me also say that she loves me, & wants to hang with me in the yard, sits at my side at night and when her and the wife come in from outside the first thing she does is come running in looking for me.
It’s bee a little over a year now and she’s great but I think that there’s some PTSD that she may not be able to forget

My Beagle has some issues but is doing much better. When I first got her, she would sit and tremble during storms - she still gets a bit nervous but no shaking. She doesn't run off or collapse anymore when I get a foot near her.

The Pit mix that was a bait dog looks like her ears were trimmed with scissors (I can get mean looks in the vet's waiting room until they hear the story) but doesn't seem to have any major problems. She will come back in the house when my friend's dogs get to playing rough in the back yard but doesn't freak out over it.

There's a few threads around the forum that have some good tags trips hasn't yet cleaned up - I've tagged most of them with "Trips wasn't here" :icon17:

Your wife was also the first one she met of the two of you and started forming their bond on their way home!
Treats, treats and more treats as you approach to pet her? Its hard to undo any trauma. When Pepper was little, we were sitting at a park bench and this big dude just suddenly came up to her an tried to pet her while she was sleeping, Pepper woke up TERRIFIED of this stranger and just lost it, and since then shes been leery of strange men. Pepper is such a mommas girl, she follows the gf around all day indoors. She HAS to be near the gf at all times. BUT she will only let me groom her. She has no problem letting us pet her or hold her anywhere, but when the grooming glove comes out, she will only let me do that.
Oh dang. I just realized today is the one year anniversary we got Pepper..lol

Wife and I have been going through hell for a week. I am just about in tears. I finally got a hold of the right person. The best I can hope for is for people to tell the truth. I am not standing silently anymore and keeping my mouth shut. It is very difficult to do the right thing sometimes.
