Suing YouTube over this mess isnt going to accomplish anything just like filling class action lawsuits... it's a nice thought in principle, but the reality is the lawyers will make a lot of money and the company getting sued gets to save face by settling quickly. The people get basically nothing for their troubles.

Because people are too lazy (or too stupid) to THINK for themselves these days.
It’s far easier to get someone to do it for them.
All packaged up with a neat bow for them.
There’s an “app” for that. It's called (insert any of the names that ZontheRocks listed here).
That way, there is none of that nasty “balance”, or opinions which differ from one’s own (or, rather, the opinions that one has previously allowed oneself to be programmed with).
And oh boy, do politicians (of either stripe) love that.

It is an all too prevalent attitude these days. It's one of the biggest things that pisses me off about so many of the new threads on this forum. People just want shít spoon-fed to them. And when they get called out for being fùcking lazy, they get all butthurt and defensive about it :shakes head: :gtfo2:

Definitely, that's why all the political posts are usually like by the same people on the same team.

cossie1600 04-29-2020 10:06 PM

Oh boy, wife is on the phone with her best friend. Her entire family has been tested positive except for the 4 yo. 2 are in the hospital and the rest show no symptoms (parents, sister's family and her). Everyone stayed home except the BIL had to go to work and they went grocery shopping.

Turns out it might not be the BIL. It might have been one of the brother who had moved back in, he might have gotten it from the local restaurants or supermarket.

BettyZ started a new thread immediately after this one was locked lol. So Trips locked that one and opened up this one again with a caveat to follow the forum rule that says no discussion of politics is allowed.

Stay safe yourself!

Glad they are still transferring nursing home patients there - we received a letter here saying that if things were to get bad, hospitals would not accept nursing home patients because the prognosis would not be good. Basically "prepare for the worst, make plans now". Also, the homes don't really want the patient back after diagnosis or treatment (although I cannot think what they can do about that). Not a letter that was fun to read!

Just got an email that Southwest Airlines is going to deal with this VIRUS by wiping down their planes with anti-MICROBIAL wipes :icon14: :icon14: :icon14:

Are these people just stupid or what? Not to mention, numerous health organizations specifically recommend AGAINST using anti-microbial disinfectants :shakes head:

cossie1600 05-01-2020 01:15 PM

They never wiped the plane down before....

My question is where are they buying that many wipes?
I cannot find them at my wholesalers anywhere up here.
And I'm guessing it takes quite a few to do a 737 between flights....

What is passenger air travel like in the US now? Up here, it is down by 95% and all the remaining flights are domestic except repatriation flights. I know some pilots who don't expect to be working again for a long, long time.

In my area. Still can't find cleaning supplies. TP is hit and miss. At the store. We haven't had TP since Feb. The only cleaning supplies are for store use only.

Yeah, the TP thing is worldwide, and I don't get it.
Why not just use dollar bills - not like anyone else is accepting them these days!

Or the newspaper - that's about all it's good for anymore.

Actually, we found a package on the shelf a few weeks back. Bought it and immediately put it in the food bank bin past the checkouts. They're hurting too. Think of them if you can.

Thanks man,

Well we have no choice but to treat them due to worsening pneumonia that leads to SoB, we have to provide breathing treatments.
The sad part even we get to stabilize them no other nursing homes would accept them.

Our firs Covid positive is still at the hospital for almost a month now. Im very surprised he is still alive...In fact his lungs are clearing out.

I started hoarding TP a while ago (and continuing to do so) so that way I don't have to do this

In the event I get heat over this post, hey, it is what it is and I gotta do what I gotta do. Survival of the fittest.

I shave my hole hairs so I do less wipes, which in turns saving TP resources. I also use baby wipes as a finisher to ensure there is no gunk leftover. Gotta keep it clean for a rusty trombone (no pun intended).

The notice said "anti-microbial treatments and disinfectants". So I can see how using the term 'wipes' was maybe a bit misleading.

This is the time where you cannot afford to have the runs.

My strategy:
No greasy food, easy on the cheese, & go easy on the the ice cream.

Long term strategy unrelated to TP shortages:
Find a job in an industry deemed "essential".

I must admit, I am enjoying the time off. I worked my a$$ off.

Essential. Get a job in power generation. There was plans being made that the workers would sleep on site. They would never leave. Part of the plans was to recall some of the retired workers too.

cossie1600 05-02-2020 12:09 PM

I recently bought a case of tp from boxed. They seem to have gone up in price by quite a bit. It was $55 for 12 mega rolls. I probably could have waited as I have bidets in all my bathroom, but I couldn’t resist the add to cart button when I saw it

Zoren 370 05-02-2020 03:49 PM

Rusty,

Is a hooker an essential job?

Looking for a different carrier at least I only would be dealing with herpes virus and not covid?:ugh2:

Dang $55 for 12 mega rolls do they have multiple studs on it to stimulate your panus while you wipe?

cossie1600 05-02-2020 05:52 PM

I think that’s the going rate now. I priced out each pack and it was about $12 from the other online sites. As I said, I probably don’t need it but I couldn’t resist. Bidet life baby
