Okay all you Woodworkers out there :hello:
I have a tech question :ugh2: I’ve noticed that the 1/2” diameter zinc plated carriage bolts I’ve been using on my box are rusting rather quickly on the surface contacting the treated lumber  Perhaps I should have gotten the dull finish dipped galvanized bolts instead :icon14: Any input on this is appreciated; as I’ve removed some bolts to install longer or shorter ones & noticed the rust/corrosion on the shanks :shakes head: :ugh2: Thanks :tiphat: |
:hello:
I'z up. Working 9 to 1 today. Come home a trying to finish up working on the motorhome. Fixing the broken water line in the slide out outside kitchen. Talk about tight spaces. :shakes head: Had to cut out a section of hidden wall. :shakes head: |

But the temps have bee ok with the highs in the 65-75 range with a chance of rain every day this week. :shakes head: Anyway hope you all have a good one and be safe out there!!

Not just the bolts but all nails and screws as well. Not sure what you plan to use for siding but if you go with metal sheeting you will need something between the treated lumber and the sheeting. It will eat the metal away in a short time if you have contact. |
