If you had a chain wall around the perimeter 36” down then it would encapsulate the interior soil and protect it from freezing effects. However; you would need to design the 8” slab with enough rebar to span the entire length assuming the soil below it shrinks and the slab is unsupported chain wall to chain wall.

Good Monday Morning all. Hope you all had a great weekend. The last few laps of yesterday's F1 race was exciting to say the least. The Cowboys won and last night's steak was awesome. Coffee for now then off to gym. Hope you all have a great day and be safe out there!! :tup:
