Dear God, changing out the starter on my truck was the worst! Top bolts came out 1/128th turn at a time! All that space in the engine bay, and they cram that sucker into the worst possible place!

Done now though, and hopefully good for a while.

Motorhome went out tonight for rent. But not without some drama. Fill the water tank up yesterday. Turned the water pump on today. Sprung a water leak in the outside pullout kitchen. One of the hoses had broken a screw on fitting to the cold water side. No way to get to the fitting. So had to cut a hole in the back of a panel to get access. In the process of cutting the hole. I nicked the hot water line. Now it's leaking. Put some sealant on the line and wrapped it with fusion tape. The renters are going to let it sit over night before turning the water back on. hoping that it holds until they come back. Then I can spend some time on it to fix it right.

Not particularly pleased with how the long 2x6 turned out stain-wise. Sanded multiple times, final sanding with 320, and put three coats of stain on over two days. Must be the wood...

Still need to finish framing the tool chest. Bottom 2x6s were a tad too short, may go find some 2x8s. Table legs will run from top 2x6 to bottom 2x6s. On the plus side, staining the fence w a paint sprayer turned out pretty well for my first time using one. Made sure to park the Z on the street first too.

Edit: as you can tell by the pic, I'm standing on the bottom of rhe world. Suck it, Copernicus.

Depends on how wet the lumber is and what grade, species ect. Usually it is wet as **** at the home centers. Menards can have some decent dry stuff but its all usually still construction grade and not really meant for furniture making. If ever build another one you can try to use some pre-treatment to help the stain soak up a bit more evenly but ive never had good luck on 2x4s and the likes.
The good thing is after a few years and projects, it'll take a beating and you wont mind the patina.

2x4's and such as a general rule doesn't stain real good. Because of the treatment.

Exactly. I had some gel dyes work out OK but they tend to be the darker colors. Some of the lighter ones still look blotchy.

You’re giving me idears; though I seldom use 1.5x3.5’s for anything :ugh2:
I’m intentionally using long carriage bolts, from about knee high up & planning to put shelves around the whole inside & have plenty to anchor too
Watching the weather; as I’m planning to stick those other dozen 6x6 glider post in the ground & apply cement  They just have to be on spot, as once they’re 3+ feet down w/2+ bags of cement...they don’t have much flex :nutswinger:
Then I’m gonna pick up a couple bottle jacks & set underneath post @ strategic locations & raise the whole box evenly...roughly about a foot :iagree:
Then bolt the double bottom 2x12’s to the 22 cemented post to hold suspended while prepping underneath (after they’ve hardened) :ugh2:
At least that’s what’s on my blueprints I drew up :owned:
