After debating what vehicle to purchase I was seriously considering waiting for the 2020 Subaru Impreza STI. Also considering the 2020 Toyota Camry XLE. As I support Nissan/Infiniti and the Japanese vehicle market I would have purchased a brand new 2020 Nissan Maxima and I ran across this 2018 Nissan Maxima with only 500 miles on it and used as a demo vehicle. I kept it real and got another Nissan/Infiniti as I have had great luck owning them. An acquaintance of I know used a 2017 Nissan Maxima for a fleet vehicle and got 255K out of it when it was traded in and still ran excellent doing all the maintenance on time. I plan to use this 2018 Nissan Maxima as a daily driver. Doing modifications in the near future? Very possible!! I encourage people here to support Nissan/Infiniti.

Honestly I like the new Maxima design interior and exterior. However I cannot personally support Nissan at this stage. Their CVT's are not that great and the intitial quality of their cars have dipped since their flirtatious endeavour with Renault. If they can go back to what they use to be I will have no qualms about purchasing a Nissan in the future as a family car.
Regardless, congratulations on your purchase, I hope it lasts you a life time and gives you only the everyday issues like brake changes, fluid changes etc. As for that CVT fluid, make sure you're anal about draining it a refilling it. I would honestly do a drain and refill with those things every 40,000 miles, sounds over kill but trust me, it will pay dividends. You could look into Amsoils CVT fluid, it's good stuff and cheaper than the OEM fluid quart of quart. Regardless I would appreciate it if you could keep us updated on how this car treats you. |

I have a 2017 Maxima as my daily driver and so far with over two years of ownership, it is one of the best cars I’ve ever owned. No problems so far and I think the CVT it has is excellent. I really thought I’d hate it but it has quickly become one of the car’s best features. It accelerates almost instantly and it is nothing like what most people are used to as far as CVTs are concerned. The only warranty work I’ve needed was a new battery due to the original one leaking. That’s it!

Thanks guys I believe choosing a Nissan Maxima was a wise decision for a daily driver. No complaints here the CVT works amazing and has plenty of power for passing and emerging on the highway/freeway. Everyone I know how has owned a Nissan Maxima has been very happy. When comparing to other vehicles in car market in the similar class Nissan/Infiniti has reliability and dependability overall. The good news is since I was able to find this vehicle I will be keeping the Z!
