DA or SA? Not familiar with those acronyms.

That will happen with Glocks too. That is what I prefer to shoot. I have several in 9mm, .45, and .357 Sig. That take some getting use to but nothing that can't be accomplished with practice.

I was guessing that's what I was doing, appreciate the confirmation though. I did still put 2 through the bullseye with it, and the rest through just above and to the left (target's right torso), so I don't think it was terrible shooting considering this is my 2nd time out in my adult life. It probably did not help that I started with 2 other handguns without the trigger break.

I look forward to my next session, and will make it fairly soon.

Double Action, Single Action. Double Action, you squeeze the trigger to cockk the hammer and let it fall. Single Action, the hammer is already cocked when you squeeze the trigger. Like the 1911.

Got it.

Ghost, I'm not sure if the P229 was DA or SA. This trigger moved for the first (largest) portion of its travel with almost no resistance; light pressure from the trigger finger was enough. However the last portion of the movement required much more pressure, at which point it would fire. It required that for every shot.
