Gad, JC's post makes me want to get back to the component level repair I used to do. Only problem now is that the parts are so damn small that I need a magnifier or a scope to replace them. Most of the time a hot air pencil was enough to take them off and put new ones on.

Except, I don't think anyone wants to pay $$ for component level repair. It's all 'find the bad board, swap it and toss the bad one in the trash'.... :icon14::icon14:

My dad does scrapping and picks up stuff from some of the local auto repair shops and the tool shops. He gave me a Porter Cable saw that the only thing wrong with it was the batteries for the laser were dead.

I worked at a plant where, when I first went to work there, we would repair instruments/controllers/etc at the component/chip level. Some bean counter decided it was cheaper to send them off for repair rather than pay a tech to troubleshoot and keep parts in stock. We ended up replacing entire units instead of replacing components or boards. Too bad because chip-shooting was valuable experience for new techs fresh out of school - ya gotta know how it works before you can chip-shoot.

So I started up the ole power washer with a 0 degree angle nozzle, and hit them with holy water instead.

Black powder should be your go-to!

I thought he was saying you need to carry her off to your hive, and feed her royal jelly.
