Met up with jwick yesterday to take some photos of his family. Unfortunately the weather and other factors added up to a lot of them being unusable. And I don't know why but he reminded me of JAR, but maybe just because I haven't seen JAR in a while.

Fun day of getting crap ready for a garage sale.

madwi 05-19-2019 10:17 AM

So many WWII models to go through. Just how many models of the Bismark does one person need? :icon17:

Looks like a bitchin' time Ian! I cant say I would be happy to see glaciers and cold after the winter we have here but the pictures sure look good.

Good times. Really appreciate you coming out. The pictures turned out really well. Can’t help crappy overcast weather.

Home safe and sound.

Struggling through a major hangover here.

Will post some stories once I try to make sense of what happened and what really would be appropriate to post.

And Rusty... as I was unpacking the car, we found your socks... :icon14:

How much are you asking and can you ship? My uncle collects them.

Pintsize725 05-19-2019 11:56 AM

Waiting on day 2 of qualifying for Indy 500. Looks like Alonso will be knocked out today.

Sounds like you enjoyed the room at Fontana Village. LOL

It would have costed a fortune to ship. There was 46 unopened models. 14 landscaping molds, a clothes basket full of spray paint and ~50 bottles of paint for the airbrush. Not to mention all the glues and paint thinners.

So I'm supposed to be hearing back tomorrow about whether I'm getting the other job. I think I'm going to have to decline it though. I'd be losing a 401K benefit, losing a toll road reimbursement benefit ($130 a month) and only getting a 50 cent raise. What say you guys?

Doesn't sound like much of a step up on its face... unless there's a lot more upward mobility that can be achieved with the new vs the old, then it's certainly something to consider. If not, then I wouldn't bother.

Oh yeah that's the other part. I've pretty much been told that as far as a lead position, there's about a 10% chance until someone decides to retire or leave. Most of their employees have been there for at least 10 years, some up to 22 (not counting owners). So.......

A good rule of thumb is don't accept an offer unless they're paying 120% or more than your current work. If this place is, paywise, an annual net loss of $520, and isn't matching your 401K, I'd decline with regrets.
