I had one brake it's back leg in a empty paddock in the horse pasture. I had to shoot it also before the coyote's found it. Didn't need them coming around due to a food source being available. They will go after small dogs with the quickness. That is why folks buy AR-15's with 30 round magazines. To fight off the coyotes. They were out there in the cow pasture 2 weeks ago. We have a pack that roams around my area. Guess if you are a city boy you wouldn't understand these things.

I live in a beach city not far from Los Angeles and surprisingly we have a lot of coyotes in the area. Dogs and cats are getting killed by them all the time. There are daily sightings.

WTF you want me to do. Just leave it lay there suffering? It was going to die a slow death. I just sped up the process. :shakes head: Get over yourself. You're just a city person who never had to deal with this stuff. :shakes head:

I have seen one in daylight hours the last 15 years I have lived here. One. He wasn't scared of me at all. I will hear them at night and see their eyes sometimes in the flashlight light. Probably once a week. More common since the farmer put cows next to me.

We started to get coyotes here around 1994. The ones around here are well fed with all the wild game and pets. :shakes head: The gun club I belong to, has a $30 bounty per head. The big worry is rabies.

Not with me around. That number would be slimmed down real quick. I doubt I could get away with it out there. LOL Here, it is business as usual. There are no police officers, etc that are going to take care of you. You are on your own for the most part. Guess this is what many folks don't realize about folks in rural areas. We look out after ourselves and our neighbors well being.

I used to train for mountain bike racing at the local park back in 95 through 01. On my rides. I used to have coyotes follow me through some of the trails. It was like cat and mouse. And me, the mouse. Used to see them every day at the power plant.

Hit 2 deer with my 95 maxima first one the car was only 3wks. old with just under 7k in damage. The second one the car was 7yrs old and it totaled it !
Last year I was coming home at midnight in the Z and was following another car on the 2 lane black top doing about 55 and thought about passing him but decided to just chill and hang back and sure enough a deer jumps out and BAM !!!
Hate those damn things
