You did indeed, unfortunately the warning came too late. I had started from where I left off Friday (busy weekend) and by the time I was 5 or 6 pages in, I was invested ;)

Yeah, I appreciate a good conversation/debate without name calling. So it was fun.

Regardless of my own views, I find it fascinating to explore politics from multiple angles. I recognize that much of my understanding is limited by experience and geography.

Yup, NC is a bit more civilized than those ruffians down there... :rofl2:

FYI, I live 30 miles west of Charlotte

Perception is reality for many closed-minded people. And that is the primary motive for me to be open to and seek other people's perspectives, regardless of how ridiculous or grounded I think they might be :twocents:

They won't get it because it will be a violation of US Code. All that changed after the Starr Report. You can't dox innocent people.

The other thing that is nice is no mods to shut down the political talk, since it is against forum rules :icon17:

Thinking it might be worth opening up my political poll thread again

The biggest problem I see with political discussion on this (or any) forum is that it can be so polarizing.

That's great. Unfortunately alot of people let their emotions take precedence and dont look at the facts or the ramifications of their views. What's scary is this video I saw. Interviewing students at USC regarding the Mueller report. This girl actually said that we are guilty until proven innocent...tells you alot about how radical things have become.

Ghostvette 04-08-2019 10:02 AM

I'm just tired of all of it. I spent 20 years in government and I still have friends in many branches that keep me informed of things that aren't found in the 'news media'. I probably know way too much for my own good, some of the things I could tell you would scare the crap out of anyone.:eek:

It seems like no one does basic research, they just puke out whatever is on the 'news' and whole-heartedly believe it. :eekdance:

The art of civil discourse has vanished from our lives, everyone is 'offended' by everything, and no one wants to just actually just c'est la vie... I have my opinion, you have your opinion and if you don't like mine, then please either don't ask or as the penguins say 'smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave.' :tiphat:

The notion of PC and the subsequent social media addiction ruined a lot of social interaction as far as I'm concerned. Which is another reason I like to troll in real life (this forum is the extent of my online social media participation). Watching stupid people attempt critical thinking on the spot is quite entertaining. Especially when they get flummoxed and just start shouting insults :ugh:

I'll be back, probably later this year. We had two systems at Levine and accidentally exposed a problem with communication between nurses, therapists and the director. :wtf2:

With any luck, we'll be back 4th quarter. I'll keep you posted.

My time in the DoD. We got some much chit going on. The American public only knows a small amount. What you see posted, or in the news. Is last decades tech. There is some many black programs. I don't think they know them all.

Hell, when I was a machinist I was making parts for the stealth helicopter we used in Bin laden raid back in '97. My co-worker was making missile parts in the early 70s before the Gov't announced they would like a budget to explore the idea of making these missiles :rofl2:

When social media come along. Everything started to become PC. Comedians used to joke about anyone. People like George Carlin wouldn't last long today because they would get hammered. Johnny Carson, Jay Leno would joke on both parties at the same time. Now it's just so one sided. If you are red. You just keep your mouth shut because you will get a beat down. But it's ok for the other side. With social media, we lost the ability to have a discussion if our opinions are different.
