Anybody know what to do with crushing Anxiety?
I've been living a panic attack for the last 5-7 days and can not do a thing to make it go away.
1. Taking meds 2. Talking to Shrink I'm starting to give up ...that's kinda scary I do photography, i play piano, i'm joyless :shakes head: |
You need to see a Doctor. Good friend of mine went through this. It just came on all of the sudden. You will get better.

Watch some porn and rub one out!

Did you go to a psychiatrist or a psychologist? They take two very different approaches and people often confuse them as being the same thing. If you're taking meds, probably a psychiatrist. They tend to med it and forget it.
A licensed professional counselor (psychologist) may help: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/t...search=chicago I know it seems like there's no end, but it'll get better. The fact that you're asking is good. |
Could be a medical condition (overactive thyroid, hypoglycemia, etc). Go see an MD.

You should immediately talk your psychiatrist. You need to either adjust or change your medication. Anxiety is very treatable.

Tuff to deal with.I would try to find a good psychologist. Not easy to find. I think psychiatrists tend to medicate. You need to talk with someone to help with learning copeing skills at the root of the problem. You may not even know what the root is at this time.Hard to pull out of darkness. Keep in touch with all of us at 370Z forum. Don't give up. |
Exactly, psychiatrists almost never do talk therapy. That's a trope that Hollywood has spread. However, only they can write prescriptions (in most states). There are good ones, but there are also a lot of bad ones. That's a whole other thing though. A (good / experienced) psychologist will be able to help develop tools to handle the problem. It's sort of like remodeling a building while you're living in it. Understanding what's going on is often a huge relief in and of itself, which a professional can diagnose. The language suggests depression, which is very common with panic disorder.
Also if it's been one long panic attack or those give up thoughts continue, see a doctor (doctor doctor) sooner than later. * Disclaimer, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm just some jerk on a car forum that's in school for this. |
Find a clinical psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy.
Seriously the best option. Should be a relatively quick process with life-long results. Good luck! |

So you are doing major items I could point you towards, but it takes time. Don't stay isolated, do something anything you can. Walk, run, workout, talk to friends , family. Less time you have just by yourself better. |

that I cared deeply about. Well, she was right there all along. I gave up my car craziness and married her. Hope you are doing better. |
Yo brother, keep on keeping on and don't give up. You have fight for you life and continue to search for what works for you. As some have said you may need to go to serval doctors to get the one that click with. The same with counselors and therapists. I have daughter that is an exceptional human being, two bachelor degrees in four years, straight As and a Fulbright scholar. Well she was a nightmare of a child and it took several years to get her meds right. Her mother and I divorced particularly due to the stress of that challenge and now celebrate her accomplishments because she is off all her meds except for one that really is for sleep and anxiety. She has learned and retrained her brain and suffers no more. You can do it too. I am hear, reach out anytime I am only a PM away.

If you watch pornography, drop the habit, it messes you up mentally and it creates unrealistic expectations. Think about it, you're watching someone go at it and they have no idea you are there. Would you watch a couple make love through a closet? No. That's just off. Diet change is required as well. Go to a nutritionist they will help you out big time. Are you getting enough sleep as well? Do you lift? What is your social setting like? What is your living space like? Get the help you need through a MD and specialist as well, however, the pills given are only a temporary solution not long term. You will get through this buddy, don't you worry. |

Short daylight days will bring this on in people who have any kinda depression- for sure see dr asap...feel free to message me anytime; as I too take meds for anxiety & depression. Some meds take longer than others to work,,,but others have made some good comments on things to do. Make small goals & accomplish them,,,then increase gradually. Again ~ Feel free to pm me & I’ll respond; hope you’re improving :tiphat: |
Hey all,
This anxiety stuff is crap. I mean, we all worry about stuff... but this is dumb. Visited the doc, changed some chemistry, and doing slightly better. ;) I appreciate anyone who has commented. :iagree: |
worrying is your imagination getting the best of you.
Don't think anyone has said anything about drinking. Alcohol bums me up for days after I drink. Stay far far away from the sauce. Glad you are better!! |
Try some autocross or track days you wont have time to think about having a bad day. You can go to some events and take photos too
