Accurate statement. Especially when you have no completed degree.

That's my go to for local oil. And the only reason you'll ever find me inside a Walmart.

I had 6 MS certs and no experience. That combo means diddly squat but it did get me in the door for an interview as a contractor and then got hired out of the group of 9. Moved up after a short time and it's been amazing.

Glad to hear you are moving up, that is a great job to have and put on the resume.

I keep telling myself I'll go back and get a degree at some point. I even had my grandfather bribe me with cash to go back to school (he has a PhD in Nuclear Physics ). Instead I keep finding myself expanding my knowledge in my field and taking on more responsibilities which ultimately leads to charging my clients more money.

I feel like I'm in a pretty good place right now and going back to school would just F all that up. Of course, I've been saying that for the last 10 years...

Yeah same with my grandma. She's a firm believer in higher education. Anyway, it's pretty awesome that both you and Madwi have managed to make it through the same gauntlet. I guess at a certain point, I just kept going because I had nothing else better to do. At that time, it never entered my mind that there might actually be light on the other side, much less success.

I dunno. Lot's of musing today on the strange twists life has for us. I really was stunned when my boss informed me. Definitely rare to have a role like this, especially relatively young.

Fwiw, every QC manager/director I've worked with was ancient as **** :icon17:

Lol, accurate. I've met exactly one other guy in this role in my age range. It's a role that benefits tremendously from accumulated knowledge over time, so most companies I've encountered hang onto their QA staff as long as possible (unless incompetence/inability to adapt becomes a liability)

Talk to BigAudio. If I'm not mistaken, someone actually did figure out the Nav Unit issue and a work around, but I can't recall the title of the thread.
