FINALLY AT THE POINT I CAN GIVE THE SHOP MONEY TO START FIXING THE Z!!!!

Im so happy right now. Probably less than a month before i get her back between repairs and getting it rewrapped.

Insurance has made this whole ordeal a much bigger mess than it needed to be i swear

Have you watched Chef with Jon Favreu? (sp?)

It's such a feel good movie. It's where I based my cubanos off of at first as well. Use spearmint instead of mint, frozen orange julius instead of fresh orange pulp, cold smoke for 3 hours using apple wood, and a healthy injection of msg right before the roasting.

Not surprising. Statistics show the majority of ‘retained’ people end up leaving within 6-12 months anyway.

Without a doubt. They could have retained me and I still would have kept looking. The money would simply be a short term catalyst. I am truly unhappy where I am now. Which sucks because this place was amazing a few years ago. Corporate took over, restructures out the arse happened and we are now left with a husk of the former company and no morale. It's soul sucking.

I am just disheartened no attempts were even made to keep me. I am the sole IT guy here for 200 users. Mind blowing they'd rather just shop around for some high school kid to take over and quit because it takes a year at minimum to learn the infrastructure. Factor in day to day tasks, projects, etc and it's a 4 man job. Oh well. Fun watching companies burn internally as well.

Same idea with my last place. Owner hired a bad shop foreman, made the atmosphere so poisonous that all of the long term employees quit (some good, some bad). It had quite a few repercussions.

I was in a very similar situation my first job after getting a degree. It was a software company that was started by our parent companies owners son. Even though it was a Corporation, it still had the small "family owned" company environment. When I joined, it was probably only 5 years old, and most of the original employees/management were still there.
About 9 years later, our parent company decided we needed more executives and installed new CEO and Directors. Our original CEO was demoted to CTO. Then they decided to outsource my department (after paying us RETRO OT averaged over the last 4 years). Funny thing was that when we got laid off, they outsourced a Temp Agency to hire us and use US for that outsourcing.
I got let go from that Temp Agency when I didnt respond to an after hours call to let a Vendor into my server room fast enough - I lived 30 minutes from work and the Vendor had left before I got there. Total BS

But the good thing is, from that point on, I said SCREW Corporations and did my own thing...I always hated the feeling of not knowing if my employment was on shaky ground, the back stabbing and the butt kissing that comes with corporations.

Memo to self:

Wear crappy clothes when wandering through a poultry kill plant. I got duck blood on one of my favorite dress shirts -- it right through my smock.

I did a look over for some work in a Hog Slaughter facility.

Salesman was to meet me but was late.

Went through the plant with the manager and discussed a few changes.

Salesman shows up 2 hrs late.He also grew up in the city.He wants to go in and look at what ideas I had.

Plant manager asks him if he sure he wants to go in.Manager never said anything like that to me.

We are on the kill floor.Think texas chain saw masacre.I have my notes and talking with manager.Salesman is behind me.
We come off the floor and I'm talking and turn to salesman who is not there.

I find him on ground by exit door just off kill floor.White as a ghost and shocky.

Got him to a couch and he came around after awhile.

I love Bacon and pork chops.
