What made you get a Ridley?

I was looking for a aero frame and I saw this one on ebay for a price I couldn't pass up. The seatpost mast was cut really short but the company that was selling it didn't realize they make extensions for them so I got the frameset dirt cheap. I just transfered all my components over to it and sold my Orbea frameset. Basically the Ridley cost me nothing. :happydance:

Back in the '90's. I used to do 2 or more century rides a year. That's when I was racing MT bikes. Used ride the Yough River Trail. Go from the Yough Dam to Pittsburgh, 76 miles. Eat, then go back to the dam. Damn, I miss those days.

Try finishing an iron man in your late 40s!!

It is a big accomplishment. She should be proud. I did a solo century in a little over six hours and I was beat for a couple days.

Well, it's not like you can't still ride, just not at that level. :rofl2:

When I was in my 40's I could have done the cycling and the run. I swim like a rock. Here's the funny part, I live a block from the ocean.

The bike I have now is my old Trek 990 chromemoly frame. "Steel is Real". :icon17: With XT running gear, old Marzocchi Bomber forks. Almost bought a Trek Triathlon bike. Was thinking on doing those. But a hip replacement changed those plans. :shakes head:

Smoking deal. I am with Rusty one of the dirty tricks of age. I gonna work real hard to get in shape again and get a century ride in this year. The friends I spoke of said I have do the Tahoe century ride to be part of the gang, lol. For those that don't know Tahoe is about 6,500' and the ride goes above 7000' with elevation changes of 3000' or so.

Yep, Redondo Beach. Done some bike rides down to Seal Beach. One of the only things I like about still living in this area is there are a lot of supercars around and it's fun to embarrass them with the Z.

Nice! If you got it, flaunt it! I was on PCh going to Huntington Beach, and I saw a procession of no less than 50 Ferraris. But I did hate the weekends in the summer. All the tourists took up the street parking. Probably worse in redando.

Weekends are bad here during the summer. The car pretty much stays parked and the bike comes out.

Oh. Yeah it sucked losing your spot on the street. I'd have to time my trips so I'd get home when the beach go'ers went home or have someone pick me up.

bunk 09-01-2018 03:17 PM

Well gents, back to work. Have a great weekend

Leingod 09-01-2018 03:52 PM

I'm shocked you haven't scrapped it yet. They're selling for about $100 online. Have some poor sucker come take it off your hands.
