My setup is (will be) this:

McIntosh MC152 Power Amp (not yet ordered) -- Replacing Adcom 125W X 2 amp

Parasound Halo P5 Preamp -- I already have this -- it replaced a funky Carver unit

Klipsch Forte III -- I am ordering tomorrow and they are replacing a pair of Bose 901

CD Player -- undecided but it is between the Marantz 6006, Onkyo C-7000R or the Cambridge Audio CXC (transport only but the Parasound has an excellent DAC)

My nearly 30yr. Old setup is a Kenwood KR6050,5-disc CD & VS12 Cerwin Vegas!
It will still Rock,,,just won’t hit the low bass thumps.

I gotta figure out this rattle before we leave tomorrow. It sounds like ****. I think maybe Jlarson is on to something with the heat shields. It started when I put the TPs on. I dont see anything else it could be. Exhaust isnt hitting anything and it sounds like it is right at the TPs. Embarrasing

I honestly with I was around to help you man. I already sorta miss being under the car poking at stuff....

It's the heat shields. Every time, they cause a rattle.

I have owned some Kilpsch horns. You can put a lot of power to their speakers without distortion.

I wish you would try out some other speakers with a variety of music first.
Those make my ears bleed. But if your old and the upper range is missing- then perfect!

I deal in Def tech, RBH sound, Leon Acoustics, JBL, Golden ear, and some Truaudio.
I used to do Altec Lansing and Boston Acoustics before they went to the crapper. They sure has some nice stuff in the day.

Not sure what you are trying to power the speakers with, but it makes quite a difference if it is a receiver or separate amp and the quality of the amp section.

I hammered out some rain shields for my Trackspec hood vents. Have them so that water drains in front of the motor.

If other people want them. I'll make them for a price. Aluminum not cheap.
