maybe? our governor on Nov. 11gave us a .12 gal tax and .20 on diesel,,,i thought we are supposed to vote on items like this, he got it thru the legislature some how, probably state $$$ benefits to all involved
im retired , my girlfriend has 5 years leftand then we are out of here |
This is an idea often floated in states mainly as a way to tax electric vehicles for their road usage since they don't pay tax on gasoline obviously. Many states are looking to future and are concerned about shrinking tax revenues to fund highway maintenance and construction as cars get better and better gas mileage or in the case of electric or hydrogen vehicles no gasoline use at all.

With its traffic, high gas prices, expensive homes, fire season, Lakers......who would want to live here right?
|
Everytime they raise the gas tax they use the excuse that the money will be used for road repair. We probably (still) have some of the worst roads in the country.

It will be everywhere soon as the national trans budget is wearing thin. I work in the industry.
How about this one in Floriduh? The state senate is considering a bill to give parents $7k a year if your kid is getting bullied in a public school for them to attend a private one!!! Like bullying doesn't happen there. Just another waste of tax payers money. Fix the GD problem in public school and with shitty parents. |
California, a great place to visit.

I can't stand living in California. Rent is crazy expensive in the Bay Area. 3.5-4K a month gets you 1100 sqft. If you buy here expect to pay 7 figures for a starter home. Roads suck, traffic sucks, lines for everything, rude people out number courteous people 3:1, taxes keep going up and this state has the most corrupt politicians walking around like their $hit doesn't stink. We have a pay for use lane on some freeway sections. I really hate California....

I'm in SoCal...born & raised here. I've lived in other parts of the country but, I always come back home. Sure, there's stuff to complain about, where isn't there? Are there some rude people? sure, again, that's not just in Cali...there're jerks all over the country. I've got a huge 1 bd rm in Los Feliz, $1350 a mo....pool, jacuzzi too and Griffith Park and The Greek Theater within walking distance. Yeah, there's some bad roads around town but, we also have AMAZING twisties to run on with the Z. There's great food, plenty of hotties, great weather, beaches, snow sports, etc., etc. Corrupt pols? again, that's a 50 state thing. I say if you're not happy where you're at, bail. Cali for Life! |
Good way to pay for those bike lanes the cities like to build and crowd out traffic.
I'm thinking of Calgary and Edmonton and the problems were having with them. OH.... and make them pay and pay some more for parking their frickin' bicycles ! ! ! :shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head: |

OP was just asking about taxes and it turned into a CA rant for some of you. Let's hear from our friends in the Northeast on what it is really like.

I live in a two bed two bath with two car garage with a room mate 10 mins from the ocean in Ventura County and 20 minutes from the Mulholland Snake. We pay 900 each. I wouldn't imagine living in degenerate transgender filled San Fransisco. **** that. I moved from the midwest and I wouldn't go back after realizing what we have access to out here. CA is easy to live in you just have to be smart about it. |
