Reps distributed. Be worthy of them with your posts today. That is all I ask.

She already feels devastated and was almost positive it was going to result in us breaking up. I just told her she needs to have better spacial awareness at all times and things could have been a lot worse. It's cheap enough i won't make a claim with my insurance. She will have to figure out how to repair hers by herself. I'm not helping this time.

I'm honestly excited. I get a freshly painted bumper that already had a lot of rock chips on it.

That's not too bad, props toyou for being a good sport. Accidents happen and cars can be fixed/replaced.

When my gf (now wife) and I were dating two months in, I had just bought a house and was so used to parking in the middle of the garage, when we left I just backed out not thinking about the other car on my driveway. Needless to say my rear quarter panel kissed the front fender of her dad's car. Ended up being a claim and a rather interesting first in depth conversation with her dad.

Leingod 08-31-2017 12:22 PM

Yea. It happens. What's done is done. She learned her lesson. I'm still going to take her to Disney in 20 days lol.

I just gagged a little lol. I pray that's the inflated insurance price and not the regular joe price hahaha.

It was at the dealer which is probably more expensive to begin with. It also looks like my scratches were more deep and numerous, not to mention pushed in, so it probably needed more prep work.

shop around... There are shade-tree guys who can do this on the side for a few hundred bucks. This is a good time to shave an emblem, also =)

I picked up a spare rear bumper for free on craigslist not long ago... I am going to attempt DIY shaving the emblem and respraying with automotive touchup and 2k clear spray cans. If it all fails ill probably just lose $100 and a weekend.

Around here, a full bumper cover respray at a bodyshop is $400-$600. Dealership body work is expected to be 2x-3x more.

2k is great clear. I shot my hood in it and haven't got any stone chips or anything on it since. Cures hard as heck. Well worth it.

madwi 09-01-2017 07:25 AM

you guys just shoot in the garage? make shift booth or just spray and pray? :icon17:

Leingod 09-01-2017 07:44 AM

Quote done. A full respray with a few extra coats so nothing chips as easily as the oem paint, and he will also shave/fill the rear emblem logo. $550. Not bad at all I would think. Only bad news is he is booked until Oct. So my appointment is Oct 2nd.

Just have to play the waiting game now. haha. Apparently the guy is very reputable to be booked that far ahead. I may need one of you guys to send me measurments of the 370z emblems on the left side of the rear.

The paint guy needs to remove them and isn't sure they will stick back on. SO I told him to just leave them off and I will order a new set to put on myself.

I have a big scrape on the rear bumper so getting it resprayed and the emblem shaved will probably happen next spring-ish. Not in a hurry to get it down though.

That seems like a pretty good deal to me!

Might get more play elsewhere since it's a single DIN unit... I usually just put **** on ebay.

It's a future project. My spare rear bumper is currently being stored in my future-in-law's garage. Just bought a house that is going to be a total gut job, so car projects are going to be on hold for a hot minute.
