Glad to hear the style will stay. I am not sure about that area but here most of them have amazing dark wood door casings and moulding/baseboards.

I helped a buddy flip a couple old farm houses and like you noted, they can be a nightmare to refurb. and bring up to code.

The main issues with the house, if we were to refurbish it, are: lead paint throughout, poor plumbing, poor electrical, only a root cellar, not modern heating or a/c, poor internal floor plan, etc...
