2018 STI, i believe, comes with a new HU with carplay and android auto.. bigger 19" wheels, refresh bumpers, and a better VDC map for vectoring, so i hear. id wait for dat if ure going STI.

kenchan 03-13-2017 10:31 AM

on da other hand, GTI was decent out of da box, but just not mine until i did da light mods.

now with da lip, lowered, big 19's, etc. it will definitely be kenchan's ride. :D

I wish they still had it in a hatch tho. Would suit my needs a lot better. It sure when the last year they made one that way was, but STI is well into the category of "don't buy used" for me so guess it doesn't really matter.

That 2018 looks pretty sweet. Will have to check it out when they hit the lots

kenchan 03-13-2017 10:41 AM

i like the exterior.. its da interior dat needs help. so tacky

Other plan is pick up a few year old A4 Avant. Had a few audis before and enjoyed each and every one of them. The A3 hatch was too small for me but super fun car after some suspension and ecu tweaks

yah, im no sedan guy either. i hate sedans in general but with the big wing it makes it easier to accept knowing it's not just some ordinary sedan.

if ure worried about da big wing and thinking maybe going the smaller trunk lip, seriously dont. STI's with regular lip just looks like any boring sedan.. honestly da new impreza's look better dan da WRX with the small rear spoiler.

datz a nice choice. i always liked da avant. pissed me off dey only offer da all road or watever its called dat looks like a halfarsed rally car.

Interior doesn't look any worse than the Z

Not that that's really saying much tho :p

kenchan 03-13-2017 10:49 AM

yah? i donno... the Z's interior does have some cheap bestbuy boombox cues but overall it's a nice cabin.

when i saw da RS in person i liked the exterior but as soon as i sat in da car i was like 'im i on a biz trip?' :ugh2:

I remember seeing on their website about a year ago before buying the Z that you could get STI spoiler delete.if I was building one into a sleeper I'd prolly go that way but I just need a fun spirited year round daily driver. Roof rack would offset the hatch somewhat I guess but not as handy.

Besides I'm 41 in two days not sure I'm allowed to have giant wings anymore lol

The back of the Avant especially seats folded down is cavernous for the size of the car. Even my old B6 Avant was great that way.

Will see. In no rush, but do like to plan things out

I really like the no-nonsense looks of the Z interior, but that cheap *** plastic that scratches if you breathe on it wrong drives me nuts

im not sure about a spoiler delete but dey started offering the smaller lip u could only get on da STI-Limited now on da base STI.

im older dan u and im just sayin'.. dat wing is something da makes da STI stand out as a STI. for me, i thought dat wing could bring unwanted conversation, but actually noone but dis one faking kid at my kid's bus stop made fun of it probably cause his loser pops was saying shitt about it.

i just told da kid 'hey having problems getting a girlfriend, huh?' and he turned red and went away.

u talking about the textured part? if u apply Prima Nero (or 303 Aerospace) it will prevent ur shoes and stuff from catching preventing scuffs. i always tell everyone to apply as soon as u get home from da dealer as it works best BEFORE u get any scratches or scuffs.

kenchan 03-13-2017 11:11 AM

i dilute prima nero 50/50 with distilled water.

seems to be a lot harder to even lose 5lbs now. water and salad won't do it. especially when you go out to eat. a salad is 1000 calories wtf lol

kenchan 03-13-2017 11:42 AM

tacos and broccoli is a funny combo but does seem to make it all right. :D
