My 980 is the Ti thankfully. It handles everything I throw at it in ultra. Im not running 4k or VR though. Really on the fence bout VR. I want it bad but I know Ill end up not using it enuff. swapped my wife's fit wheels to factory, washed the snows for storage, washed her car, washed my GTI. it was a full am.. now relaxing in my music room while i LGSST da mf. :D

I assume you are referring to the plastic retainers for the wheels on the top rack? If so, then nope. This one has a newer design with bearings. Smoothest, sturdiest top rack I've ever seen. Even fully loaded it's supposed to feel really sturdy :tup:
