Sad time for me

Hello everyone ,I am currently waiting for my 2010 platinum Z to be ready at the body shop as it was in a vehicle vs debris back on the 11th of this month.
I gave the shop a call on this past Friday, and was told Monday or definitely Tuesday she will be ready :) that is the good news.
The sad news is I had to put down my Louiecat because he was suffering horribly from his lungs being full of fluid and struggled to get air constantly.
Originally his illness was a deadly cancer tumor under his eye which he was actually recovering from. The meds he was on from that were very toxic but seemed to be working well. Suddenly on this past Thursday morning as I arrived home from work he was very weak and lethargic.
Took him to the vet that day and he was put on diuretics to remove fluid from his lungs. That did not work and he was becoming increasingly critical. I brought him back to the vet and I knew what was coming ,I had to release him from his suffering. It was the worst day of my life and being there while he slipped away was devastating for me, hard for me not to cry while writing this , I will miss him very much! So sorry OP ...

Kzonts 06-26-2016 12:36 PM

I've had to do that four times in my life - all dogs. It really sucks. Somewhere there's a cat waiting to be rescued so maybe you could think about that. It will help you move forward. Unfortunately our pets aren't with us very long.

You will find another wonderful cat when you are ready. Give it time. He won't be like Louie, but you will enjoy him just the same.

Sorry to hear the news. :(

Louie cat 06-26-2016 09:40 PM

My brother told me that too. I have never been so devastated, all I could think about is when he was on my lap and if I was watching tv not paying attention to him,he would extend his paws to touch my face. I miss that most of all.

Louie cat 06-26-2016 09:41 PM

Thank you :)

I lost 2 boys cats (brothers) that I'd had for almost 20 yrs. They passed within a month of each other a couple years ago.

I never thought I'd want to get another because the sadness of losing them is too much.

Then, I realized there are so many of these beautiful creatures that need a loving home. That's how I wound up with Poe (Tuxedo girl) & Valentino.

May you find peace and, when you're ready, go get a couple more kitties...you'll be glad you did. That's what Louie Cat would want you to do;)

I'm a dog guy and I have raised and trained an owned bird dogs since 1984. Besides just being a companions I have spent countless hours and miles behind them and in awe of their beauty and grace. Their remarkably ability to find their quarry and do so until we are both out gas and they have no pads on their feet. But the best is to sit on a hillside and share an apple or sandwich! Yes our pets enrich our lives! They know what it is like to live with their God every day. I just hope I did them all justice.

Condolences on your loss!

Thank you :) those cats seem very happy! I do plan to get a new cat, this pet store down the street from me gets them from the humane society, some are adults who lost thier owners to passing ,or they were just unwanted,I want to take the one like that and maybe both of us can be happy again. For right now it has only been 2 days and I am so worn out from sadness. Again thank you and everyone else here for the well wishes for me :)

Very sorry for your cat, I also do not have a pet, nor a Z so at least you got that to look forward to when you go to your garage (once the car is ready)

Sorry to hear. My old Tom is 11+ now. Still going strong but I know that day will come. Have put them down before. It's awful.
