just got back from flying my drone. It was a great flight until my battery charging cable was eaten by one of the props.:shakes head:

But i still got 8 mins of flying and some cool video. since the wires were flopping around they were being shorted and i had to land it before a fire. So earn$pend time on more parts i need and or don't need but want:happydance:

Would love to get one but have been hesitant to drop the coin on account of the short flight times, and risk of becoming an expensive toy sitting in the shelf.

Still, I'm sure it would be a blast.

Too bad my kids aren't old enough so I could get one and 'share' it with them.

I'm going to go complain and rant in my thread

Well 20 mins is the standard for any type of drone with a good camera and all the features. There are so many variables when it comes to flight times, my best was 23 mins without the go pro, video transmitter, and carbon fiber landing gear. But i built mine to maximize flight time and you can't just add another battery or bigger since weight is a BIG deal.

You can get small racing drones with a decent camera for ~$150 built. But they get around 10 mins of flight time.

My daughter's graduation went well, my bags are packed, and I'll be leaving for ZDayZ at 5:00 AM. I'll try to get reps out before I leave; otherwise, I'll get caught up when I get back next Tuesday. Hope everyone has a great weekend. :tiphat:
