So the GF is driving and we are following her mom's car. We get caught at a red light and her mom didn't. So her mom calls asking how far behind we are.

GF: I see you. Maybe 2 miles behind you
Me: 0_o
Mom: oh, OK. I will wait then.
GF: No, it's OK. I can see you. Keep going. Only 1.5 miles different.
Me: GF, that's maybe 1/8th of a mile....
