I had a very tough board for a cert this am and prepped for it for the past month. Then today along with being nervous as all hell and the room being 90 degrees i bombed 3 out of 8 questions because i kept second guessing myself. It was my last chance to go up to the board before i leave in july. :shakes head:

But its not the end of the world as my dept. deals with evaluation and subject matter expertise and not curriculum development. So that was why i was weak in that area.

what a productive day. i'm ready for 3:30 and then going to attempt to workout. i'm beat

Why am I so stupidly confused about jack points on the Z? For the sides, do they go on the little lips with cutouts on them, or directly (behind) the lip things on the flat portion of steel from photos I've seen? The front is on the "nipple" from what I can tell which is behind the plastic cover for the oil pan.

how da fak did I ever jack on the Z last year twice for oil changes? 0_o

the actual jack point on the side is the hump behind the pinch rail. i place a piece of wood on my hydraulic jack platform and place the weight just behind the two cutouts.

if you want to use those for jack stands u need to lift the car from the front under the engine area where u see the cross brace jack point.

Which is why race ramps are good... I use a 2x4 like kenchan does to lift Belle from the sides, then place a jack stand under the cross brace.

kenchan 03-02-2016 01:57 PM

which reminds me... my STI's jack point on the sides (front) is much deeper than the Z and G so i need to get a thicker piece of wood. :ugh: last time i lifted it my jack's platform was barely but noticeably hitting the pinch rail..
