kenchan 04-04-2016 03:06 PM

now a days frikken AccessPort is like 2x the price, but so easy to flash the ECU and data log, etc with no laptop.

my wife did our tax return yesterday.. yah, i know we're kinda late. looks like we get a tad over a grand back this year, but since she spent like a good 8-9hrs figuring out the best option to file, i told her she can keep it and donate watever she wants to me. :icon17: haha

i might get $0.15 too.. :rofl2:

kenchan 04-04-2016 03:26 PM

kenchan - :gtfo2:

kenchan 04-04-2016 03:28 PM

im still kinda undecided if i want to do the rear fog on my STI.. kinda lazy to do it, actually.

reason being, during the 7yrs i have my Z the ONLY time i actually used it was once. :rofl2:
well, im sure i would drive my STI in bad weather more, but still.. :ugh:

kenchan 04-04-2016 03:55 PM

i should get the STI fog with the triple mode... it has parking, braking, and reverse lamp modes. pretty cool.

but then it's LED so it would look weird with my reverse light which i believe are regular bulbs. :ugh: the brake lights on the STI are LED.. i think.. i should ask my wife to step on the brake pedal.. lol

the shaft does need to be supported though (even the service manual shows that) under the boot. otherwise the torque you give it can twist the internals pretty badly.

but the gaffer tape idea u mentioned in the past, very good.

kenchan 04-04-2016 04:15 PM

the amount of torque i was putting on the knob was probably well into 100ft/lbs i think.. if the knob can be unscrewed with no tools like most cars, then probably no more than 25lbs or so, and would not require supporting the shaft.

kenchan 04-04-2016 04:41 PM

been making a lot of presentations on DIY's today for my successor. :D

how to do kenchan's job..

step1: :postwhore:
step2: done!

:rofl2:

kenchan 04-04-2016 04:46 PM

k, enough :postwhore: from me, ur turn..!

:rofl2: but yah, not sure why nissan had to use the whole bottle of threadlock on it!

Masterbeatty 04-04-2016 04:52 PM

So today has been crap. On top of the snow It soon turned into sleet then heavier sleet, and now it's back to snow. The roads aren't treated because of the sleet. The bridge to go home was shut down because of a semi on fire with hazmat. The alternate route was blocked by a dipchit driver plowed into a pole. Good thing I'm not going home today or else I would not make it home in a timely manner. Oh and last night a C5 corvette caught on fire on the Same bridge.

Leingod 04-04-2016 05:05 PM

Just applied to 3 different places. Not taking shyt from anyone. I know what I deserve to make and what I deserve to get in a raise. Don't tell me to my face that i'm the best technician they've ever had and then give me 15 cents. Screw you.
