Just a little over a month and it'll be back out on the roads!! I'm thinking by mid April I should be safe.

I totally forgot I'll have to do that haha. I changed the oil and stored it with about 1k mile on the fresh oil. I may drive it home, drain the oil and let it sit overnight to get rid of any/all condensation in the pan. Fresh case of that 6qt of mobile 1. I'll keep the old filter on since it's brand new. And I'll finally see how well those fumoto drain valve plugs do.

kenchan 02-22-2016 12:47 PM

fumoto valves from wat i read slows down the flow considerably. for a street car i think the inconvenience out weights its benefits. i use the factory plugs on my cars.

plus, i only do one change per year.

kenchan 02-22-2016 12:48 PM

meh, i think my tint/clearbra guy flaked out on me. will drive slow anyways while i break in the car, i'll just do the xpel on my own and let my usual tint guy do the windows later. :shakes head:

Yea, i've read they take forever to drain. I am in no rush though. It's an oil change. Takes me a half hr to get all the bolts off the undertray anyways. Another half hr to drain the pan won't kill me. And i won't get oil seeping down my arms when the drain bolt flies off and into the oil pan every single freaking time. haha

Zspeed undertray is slightly teasing me, but I hear it usually leaks since the opening isn't big enough to let all the oil out.

yah, i suppose it can be a conversation piece. i usually let the oil drip with the factory plug for 30min.. so with the fumoto valve might take like an hr :icon14:

yep especially if there is any wind it might get on the opening and drip elsewhere. i was thinking about getting one for my G when i ran over a hubcap a few yrs ago. luckily i was able to fix it and continued using the plastic factory one.

What's this 4 bolt thing for the OEM shroud? I had to remove all the bolts to access the oil pan last year.

kenchan 02-22-2016 01:05 PM

im heading over to carmax later tonight to sell my fit. kinda bitter sweet.. its a great car for wat it is. just too slow and braking weak for my needs... and makes me look like a middle-aged loser. :ugh:
