If I order Swifts, do I absolutely needs SPC camber arms for the rear and toe bolts for everything? Friend just had his done with nothing but the springs. He's saying 1.3 green and 1.4 out for the other side for the fronts.

kenchan 03-29-2016 11:55 AM

will need to use griot's paintprep to first remove the many layers of carnauba built up from SpeedShine. :rofl2:

it's more the rear. u can try it without it and see how u like it after alignment.

kenchan 03-29-2016 11:57 AM

my G has similar geometry and everything is within factory spec. running rear stillen camber rods only as far as alignment correction. no toe rods or bolts on the rear.

the alignment guy a few weeks ago said  well done ken! very nice setup considering how low the car is.

For $88, I might as well get the SPC's. Should i get toe bolts as well for the rear? All my searching says that the front really doesn't need much.

kenchan 03-29-2016 11:59 AM

i would leave the front alone. as for the toe bolts, it appears to be a popular solution... i wouldnt know as i dont plan on lowering my Z at all.

kenchan 03-29-2016 12:00 PM

why mess with a great thing.

dat is my philosophy. same goes for the STI's suspension. thing rides awesome out of the box.

Alrighty, thank you. This is still all up in the air, was just curious. Figured I would get Swifts if that front lip isn't in stock by this week.

in dat case, the glazed surface/membrane would be removed.. :ugh:

Im sorry I FUBARed that up. It needs a polish since its black and I have a bunch of swirl marks. but the griots 1 step has polish in it. the paint glaze covers scratches. I mixed up the process but thanks.

I'm buying the camber and traction arms for my car, I haven't decided if I want to put the Swifts on. I ran adjustable camber arms on my Corvettes, they do make alignment a snap. :twocents:

Masterbeatty 03-29-2016 12:20 PM

My griots inventory is as follows: best of show wax, paint glaze, one step sealant, polish 1-4, speed shine, clay bar, 3 inch random orbital, red wax pads, orange polish pads, car shampoo, and 3 of every towel they make. I plan on using all of it this weekend in the correct order when I find that out.

I just look at tire prices and cringe a little haha. Figured some decent camber arms would help extend some tread life. But also figured that if I get the arms, I might as well get some Swifts.

yah, i rarely use the one-step sealant with any glaze before or after as it defeats the purpose.

kenchan 03-29-2016 12:50 PM

was reading the sm and

im going to use my spill proof funnel and burp the system. much faster to rid air reliably.

Every car is different. I took this gamble and lost and had to get back in there to install the rear camber arms and toe bolts.

I'd recommend just installing it with the springs since you're already under there.

That stuff also works to get rid of pesky coyote's roaming around your yard without making a whole lot of noise. :tiphat:

kenchan 03-29-2016 01:00 PM

my G takes 2 gallons so i buy one concentrated green nissan coolant and mixed with distilled water.

the Z i have to buy 3 gallons but have a lot remaining.. it looks like? dafaq..

b15 03-29-2016 01:02 PM

yah, i ordered 3 jugs just now. 78 shipped.. :icon14: oh well :rofl2:

but this is the first time doing the Z so im okay with it. i suppose if ure in a warm climate u can get away with 2 gallons and rest distilled water.. ?

Leingod 03-29-2016 01:10 PM

Idk what to buy anymore...

HFC's (idk if it'll be obnoxious with the axle back exhaust kit)
Swifts
Front lip/spoiler combo
K&N drop ins with MAF tubes

out of those i would do it in 2 steps in this order since u already got spacers..

1. swifts and front splitter/rear spoiler combo
2. drop-ins and maf tubes with HFC's.

I have a gallon of it and it says it's premixed and not to mix with any more water

kenchan 03-29-2016 01:14 PM

u really dont need HFC's imho for street use.. more of a hassle vs gains..

yep, but dats because it has anti-freeze agent for cold climates. cold like -40F and below.

in warmer climates u can even use straight distilled water.

kenchan 03-29-2016 01:17 PM

anyway, i bought 3 gallons of it so im not adding any distilled water.

im just going to have like 3L left over... :ugh2:

kenchan 03-29-2016 01:42 PM

kenchan 03-29-2016 01:47 PM

without making a mess, dat is..

kenchan 03-29-2016 02:05 PM

and answer looks like a no.. the drain is too short. will remove cover and stop being a lazyarse.. :ugh:
