Good afternoon from Malta

I've always wanted to visit Malta :tiphat:

Not really sure why. I just like obscure, small countries. And the fact that it's an island is just an extra

Highly recommend it here. The bus system is awesome. They have a map that tells you exactly what line you need to take to see any attraction. Weather is great, everything is relatively cheap. LOTS of things to do. Everyone speaks English. Wish I was here for more than 3 days but I have to visit the rest of Europe lol

Ended up taking the 21st to the 2nd off. Leaves me with 3 days left of vacay to use since the office is closed ex mas eve, xmas day, and NY day. 2 weeks paid vacay with time to spare still! Gotta love it!

Yah end of yr I'm taking the 2 wks off :D

JARblue 11-02-2015 11:09 AM

I always take the week off between Christmas and New Year's. Of course, I end up spending most of it in the office when we don't have plans. But they are free in case I need them

I'v never had a job that offered actual vacation time. It's mind blowing to me right now. I was always allowed to take a day off when needed, but nothing consecutive. And I'd be guilt-shamed for that day or 2 taken off regardless. It's envigorating to know I can take days off without any back blast or stress.

My maternity leave starts 11/12 and ends 12/28 but I'll be coming back on a modified schedule so I can bring Dominic with me. Wish I could just start it now.

dat's cool. i have a lot of vacation time since im one of the senior members at work, so i take advantage during the holidays. :)
one reason is my kids' school is closed so rather not be paying some daycare. lol

Not that I've seen. His son posted on JP's profile that he passed away. That's all.

my company made it HR policy recently that you need to take 5 consecutive days in a row.... some people were mad because they would book off every friday for a few months so that they had short weeks and other types of strategies using long weekends and such

partially to help the employee to settle down and relax the other was business practice to ensure that no hidden files are being swept under the rug and brought to light. sorta.

the rule only applies to full-time staff though... contracts and their contract prorated holidays are exempt.
