Ms Pint... do you know anything about mirrorless cameras? I'm looking at the Sony a6000... it's lighter than my Canon SL1 but I'm not sure if pictures will come out as nice?

Not really, tbh. I've heard good things but haven't researched in depth.

Fought a coconut and lost. Few stitches later and I'm sorta good as new. Can't really bend my hand at all now though. And the tetnis shot they game me makes it rather really sore to even move my whole arm.

This better be normal!! I've never had stitches before.
