Anticipation is key. My dad was teaching that to me when I was 12 years old just riding along with him in the car. To this day I routinely anticipate people trying to change lanes or make a sudden stupid maneuver several moments before they attempt it. My wife used to never believe me, so I started calling them out loud in front of her. She believes me now lol

I've been in three accidents in my 18 years of driving (and it's been 10 years since the last one). Two were witnessed by police officers confirming it was not my fault, and the third was due to a freak blown tire that someone had while entering the highway. My wife hates my occasional aggressive driving style, but she at least acknowledges that I must be doing something right :driving:

Same here. You're not alone. I'm teaching the GF how to ease onto her brakes instead of slamming them last second at every stop she has to come to. I could feel her poor Versa trying to keep straight at some lights.

I will say that i play offensively when driving around dumbarses though. I won't stay behind them and give them space. I'd rather just use the horsepower I have and pass them to continue on my way. This isn't to say I cut people off or anything. If the left lane is open, I'll downshift a gear or 2. launch the car for a split second and be done with the morons behind me.

Single accident in my life....old guy backed out of his parking spot without looking behind him while I was waiting in line to exit the lot. My poor Cobalts only fender bender....

that must have been the same woman that sold me the dog jerky and told me it's for people. she said the dogs on the bag mean that the dog helped sniff out the best jerky parts :icon14:

LOL my wife just gets defensive when I try to talk to her about brakes now. But she just won't fuckin listen - I have tried and now have no more patience. She tore up our old Accord brakes such that I had to replace rotors and pads (~30K miles). Then she tore up the Z brakes such that I had to replace rotors and pads (~20K miles). Then she tore up the Acura brakes such that I would be replacing pads and rotors if it weren't a lease that we are returning next month (~40K miles). Granted all of those rotors could have been turned, but I chose to go the upgrade path on the Accord and Z since they were going to be my new DD.

Thankfully, rotors and pads are an easy job. If she jacks up the brakes on her new Accord, I will just replace them when she can't take it any more. Or maybe I'll just make her continue to drive on them to teach her a lesson. Nah, that wouldn't be very nice to the car :icon17:

u guys familiar with roof racks at all?

if so, how do you tie down long cardboard boxes and wood planks? was looking at yakima or something like that and maybe straps. i want to get a bunch of planks to mod my basement rc track. :D plus i kinda like the idea of having extra cargo space over the roof of my dd.

If he weren't such a taffyapple, maybe the Honda wouldn't be hurting his back so much. Kia is made for taffyapples :ugh2:

i like your answer!

seems like saturn drivers migrated to kias and hyundais. mostly kia's. they drive slow and stupid, only thinking about themselves not yielding to traffic especially cars approaching them from behind.

thoughts?
