Wish I could be around this weekend to wash the Z...

Leingod 09-04-2015 09:48 AM

I want to buy another new shift knob...

JARblue 09-04-2015 10:10 AM

So apparently, color-matched splash guards are a standard option in Australia (but not in the US :ugh:). So I found a dealer than has imported some and still has a few sets of two colors in stock; thankfully, one of the colors happens to be Orchid White. They will not be restocking because the 2016s have changed body style enough to use a different splash guard.

Should I pay $252 for them? Kind of hard to justify that price since I'm tempted to buy the black plastic ones from the dealer here and some OEM spray paint from automotivetouchup.com and try to paint them myself (probably cost $80 for the spats + $20 for the paint). But my painting job is almost guaranteed to look like garbage compared to the factory painted ones.

You could try reaching out to Aaron (morbid370z)? He is pretty OCD about details and handled the plastidip rattle can job for my lip pretty well.

So you're saying the paint job I did on your lip was shitty? :icon08: It probably was :icon17:

I can actually get a decent finish with rattle cans now. But not a professional finish by any means. I'm really leaning towards the factory painted ones or none at all.

kenchan 09-04-2015 10:19 AM

Running a few errands this am... this PM motoring my RC cars. :p

It would bother me if I painted a piece and it looked a lot worse than the factory finish.

kenchan 09-04-2015 10:20 AM

Rattle cans work if the pressure inside is high. :D

kenchan 09-04-2015 10:23 AM

Won't work if wrong color.. :ugh:

kenchan 09-04-2015 10:24 AM

I recommend painting next to neighbor you don't like's house.

The phrase "how much worse" is the key. I can handle it not looking as good if I didn't pay for it. But it can't look like it was done by an amateur. I think I'm beyond that point, but I'm not sure I'm willing to risk it.

Thankfully, I have plenty of practice shaking my arms quickly like that ;)

Sigourney Weaver in Alien did the underwear scene much better. Hubba Hubba.

I've been playing video games for the past 2 hrs. We are free to leave at 2:30 which is nice. Stole 9 diet pepsi's from the boardroom that were left over from the presidents meetings the past week. May go steal that eclair now....

"Yeah right"

The laws of physics can be ignored.

Sandra can fly any foreign spacecraft even when the buttons are printed in Russian, English or Chinese.

It's pretty much a standard feature of any movie she's been in, beginning with The Net.

Decided not to purchase the $252 color-matched splash guards from Australia. Instead we're going to get the stock black ones for $100. I can get them on Amazon for $80 shipped, but I'm going through the dealer since the parts guy was nice enough to walk out and get his personal white Accord with the same splash guards, so I could see the black guards on a white car in person. They actually don't look terrible and don't have any texture to them (the ones I saw in the showroom with the bed liner texture were different). I think I still might paint them, however :)
