And that's coming from some slacker who got a Culinary degree only to find out he hates cooking.

Can take the stock knob off without shredding it, yet lost a fight to the oil drain bolt.

Amazon.com: Fumoto F-106 Engine Oil Drain Valve: Automotive

madwi 06-08-2015 01:05 PM

 I am not going to be worth a crap tonight at work. I forsee sitting on my large rear end doing nothing for a good portion of my shift.

kenchan 06-08-2015 01:10 PM

usps lost my package. then found my package. :D then lost it again.
then suddenly "out for delivery"

will see in a few hrs. :ugh:

those thing drain so slowly.

i let my pain drip for a good 15min before i put the plug back in.
with that valve it will take like 30min or more..

Yup. I'll move it over to the Z if I like it. I'm sick of dealing with stupid iddues on the Civic tho. I'm not going to spend $60 for some random guy to do an oil change. I'll do it myself for $20 with all better stuff. Even if it leaks slow, I have nothing to do anyways. I'd rather a slow stream instead of no oil change at all.

Davey 06-08-2015 01:24 PM

The best way to get all the oil out is to start it up and let it run while the oil drains.

Yea....Sorta need to find a way to remove the drain plug first :rofl2:

madwi 06-08-2015 01:30 PM

are you using ramps or anything to raise it up?

3 ton jack and jack stands on the second notch. I'm to scared to raise it anymore. I can fully get under the car and apply as much pressure as possible to the plug. It's just stripped and torqued wrong from the moron who changed the oil over the winter since I didn't have a place to do it.

That depends. Did the 17mm socket get the drain plug out?

Step One: Remove drain plug

Let me know when you are ready for Step Two.

That seriously sounds amazing regardless of the aftermath to come.

I never did understand magnetic plugs. If little tiny metal shavings cause that much damage, something else is totally screwed on the car.

As for race ramps....no. I need to feel like a man in my youthful age of jacking a car up.

so u do suck at driving up MT on an incline, huh? :rofl2:

kenchan 06-08-2015 02:23 PM

Your ceiling fan has an oil drain plug? That's hardcore.

RC-F is the 5.0 v8 with 467hp. The lower trims are just the 3.5 v6

I'm working with the GF now to get her comfortable starting on an incline. She tends to freak and launch the car at the slightest glimpse that it's rolling backwards. If I couldn't move the Civic up a ramp, I'd revoke my man card right now.

Wasn't Mrs. Pint looking at one? They look wicked mean, but yea. They're only a 100hp bump over a Toyobaru.

Yeah Lexus needs to step up their game with that crap. The IS is not a bad car, outside of the weak HP delivery. Can't believe they stuck the same tired lump in the RC, too.

What's so special about that V8 they need to charge $20,000 extra for it? :ugh2:
