We had our alarm serviced the other day (when I was working from home) and the guy seems to have screwed it up.

So I call to tell them and I am not really hopeful because it's a weird issue. The key fobs go to a bad status like it can't communicate with the fob (WTF, you're supposed to leave the house with them?) but the bad status gets cleared if you disarm the system using the key fob. But then 12 hours later, the bad status code is back.

All I had the guy do was replace a battery and a sensor and add in a new key fob remote - the other one is the old one I already had. And they BOTH do it. So he definitely messed something up.

So they're sending someone out... in 2 weeks. :ugh2:

Meanwhile my wife gets a call from their automated system 2 - 3 times a day to let her know that there is a non-problem with hers or my key fob.

The alarm still works fine and everything but it's kind of annoying that the technician left the alarm incorrectly configured and I have to deal with this crap for another 2 weeks. Wife is also kind of annoyed with the phone calls. :shakes head:

I would try and replace the batteries in both key fobs. I had the same situation years ago and just replacing the batteries in all three of the key fobs took care of it. No problems since.:tiphat:
