Some hell!! I'm fighting with this clutch helper spring. Took forever to get the pin out. Then I struggled getting the assembly back in. Nos I can't even get close to pushing the pin back in. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have sufficient lighting? im right handed and held the flashlight in my left hand like a dagger while supporting my body with my elbow. this freed up my right hand.

i read people crying about how difficult it was to install, but it wasn't difficult for me

Leingod 06-29-2015 06:51 PM

I can't get the bolt back in at all. And I can't lift the assembly at all.

Leingod 06-29-2015 06:52 PM

I can find the holes for everything. Freaking bolt just isn't going in at all.

kenchan 06-29-2015 06:55 PM

you tried giggling it around, right? it needs to be aligned perfectly for the shaft to go back in. use a small hammer and tap the bracket. (dont hammer it in btw)

Leingod 06-29-2015 06:55 PM

Yea. I also marres it a little just getting it out. Nothing crazy

Leingod 06-29-2015 06:56 PM

I can't get it past the first hole on the assembly.

madwi 06-29-2015 06:56 PM

push the pedal in very slightly and it should slide right back in.

Leingod 06-29-2015 06:57 PM

I just removed the whole assembly. I can't get the bolt in at all. It's way to right. I'd have to hit it with a hammer

Touch the marred up spot with a bit of sandpaper, just enough to knock the high spot down.

kenchan 06-29-2015 06:59 PM

 dang.. the biggest pita was trying not to get grease on my floor mats! :icon17:

kenchan 06-29-2015 06:59 PM

im starting to get a headache just thinking about being in that position for longer than a few min.... :icon14:

kenchan 06-29-2015 07:01 PM

sometimes i worry i will never be able to get out of the car ever again..lying down in a weird position. :eekdance:

until my wife calls 'ken-san, dinner's ready!' :yum: im out of the car and heading to wash my hands immediately.

Leingod 06-29-2015 07:01 PM

Sand papering now. This bolt def needs to be thinner. I'd need a sledge hammer to fit it back into those holes.

It was in there once, it will fit. I had to press the pedal in just a touch to get it to be aligned just right to get the pin back in. Be sure no dirt on shaft, no high spots from marring. Regrease if necc.

Screw you Scott. hahahahaa

I got it in finally. I had to sand it profusely and then it slid back in. No way in hell was I doing that like it originally was. The blot is still wicked tight after it goes through all 3 holes and the little clip is back in place. Doubt it's going anywhere. I don't even feel like driving the damn thing after that ordeal.

Just took the Z for a quick drive. I'll listen to Mr. Madwi more often I guess and just get the assembly. The new spring is nice, but still doesn't fully alleviate the 1st to 2nd shift jerkiness. It's smoother for sure and feels likes less travel. Or at least less quick pulls at the tip of the shift.

Leingod 06-29-2015 07:54 PM

6 pack of beer... here I come!!!!

Its also the delay in the throttle that makes this car tricky to drive.
Id get a reflash or atleast do the voltage multiplier. Makes a huge difference.

Pintsize725 06-29-2015 08:01 PM

Not that you men care but I found the perfect dress for our baby bump photos. :excited:

No idea where to get a reflash done. Or what a voltage multiplier is. Haha. I have some researching at work to do.

Leingod 06-29-2015 08:15 PM
