I only found time to wash three out of four sport rims yesterday after work. And they weren't even the ones mounted on the car :( :icon17:

This morning my brother-in-law is walking across the stage at The University of Texas. Truly an incredible accomplishment considering his situation :tiphat:

( Click to show/hide )
He has a severe case of Crohn's disease - by far the worst his specialist here in central Tx has ever seen. The various medications have not been working for him, and he is pretty much out of options as he has just finished up dosing the latest new Crohns/IBS drug available. Most of these drugs are so serious they won't even let you take them for more than 6 months or a year. So if they don't work, you move on to the next one.

He started taking classes and was overwhelmed pretty quickly trying various Bio- or Engineering degree plans. It was only his second or third semester when he had some inflammation so serious that it required dropping all of his classes (thankfully with no repercussions) and having emergency surgery. He's pretty sure stress was the reason for this flare up. But he comes back and continues to improve his GPA every semester. He finally decides he wants to major in Human Biology and work in a laboratory doing research on his illness.

After turning down his doctor's recommendation last fall to have surgery that would leave him with a ileostomy/colostomy bag, he just finished his last full semester with a 3.03 GPA taking all upper level bio classes with 3-4 hour labs. He has one final class to finish up this summer, but they are letting him walk across the stage now because there is no summer ceremony.

Unfortunately, he's just not doing well right now. The guy is almost 5'-10" tall and barely 100 lbs. For reference, his healthy weight is still skin and bones at 140 lbs. I just hope he hasn't pushed too hard or neglected himself too much and is able to finish up this summer and get his degree. Then I hope he focuses on taking care of himself. It's unfortunate this amazing kid has to suffer so much.

For those interested, his name is Michael D. Smith. Thanks for reading.

I think today is cruise day. There is still so much pollen out there it would be stupid to wash the car. By the time I got done with the top and started on the sides, the toop would be covered again :icon17: New plan is to drive really fast and hope most blows off lol.

Davey 05-23-2015 08:28 AM

:hello:

Well I did take the Z for an evening cruise last night, and I'm up to 1000 miles. The Z is safe back in the garage with a few bugs stuck to it.

Unfortunately, the garage door won't go up. :ugh2:

I have a guy coming to patch it up a little so it will work but it's time to replace it. Then I'll have a nice shiny new door on my crappy garage that needs to be painted, so I guess I'll have to paint the garage. :icon17:

Leingod 05-23-2015 09:08 AM

Morning guys. Prepping for the wedding and watching the gf freak out about every little detail is hilarious. I'm gonna go chill in the lobby of the hotel and gawk at a gorgeous aventador parked outside.

Leingod 05-23-2015 09:10 AM

Oh yea, someone explain this to me.

We were driving last night on the interstate. Speed limit was 65. We were doing exactly 71. A random crappy car goes flying past us doing roughly 90-100. About 1/8th of a mile down the interstate he throws his emergency lights on and continues doing that speed. About 2 minutes later another car does literally the same exact thing.

Any ideas?

Just got back from a nice cruise. Took the back roads to warm up the oil to operating temps and then hit the expressway to blow off the pollen. It worked! It all freaking blew off :icon17: No shiny bracelets either! I was very surprised no police presence as I headed North and everyone and their brother was going North for the holiday weekend. Everyone was courteous and moved out of the left lane. When it cleared in both lanes I dropped the hammer (up to speed limit only of course) and watched the pollen fly off the nicely sealed and waxed car.

What a good day so far!

I need to setup oil change at the mitsu dealership. Yup you heard that right :icon17: They share a lot with the nissan dealership and one of their techs is awesome. He treats my car like I do and always lets me hang in the shop while hes working on my car. I call ahead to make appoinment and they get all the stuff from nissan across the parking lot.
