Is it just me or is the Jeep SRT ugly as hell?

I'm arguing with someone in another forum about this thing vs a Z. Am I the only one that would not drop 65k on this ugly *** suv?

Aesthetics aside, why the hell would anybody cross shop this with a Z??? :wtf2:

janglez 03-27-2015 09:32 AM

it's not too bad... but there's no way i'm dropping 65k on that... that's porche cayenne money

jmayz 03-27-2015 09:40 AM

He's not cross-shopping just trying to say his car is the best thing since sliced bread and the Z sucks. My thought was there are much better options in that price point. Hell, you could buy 2 z's for that! I just couldn't spend that kind of money on a Chrysler.

Its an SUV... Its not supposed to be pretty.

I would use this as a family hauler any day of the week.

While it is the same money...I bet long term the jeep would be cheaper. If it's a lease for a couple years where long term maintenance isn't a factor Porsche for sure.

I love them. Things are monsters. If I had to own an SUV, this would be it.

Was at Raceway Park few weeks ago and there was a few of them running the 1/4. Nothing slower than mid 12's. I think one was running in the high 11's. Then they loaded it up and drove home.

Have you sat in a recent Chrysler? My buddy has a loaded 14' Grand Cherokee Limited. The features, interior, and just about everything else not performance related puts the Z to shame. Obviously they are 2 different types of cars but don't knock it just because it's a Chrysler.

im no a suv fan, but i think it looks okay.

i like that MJ song they use on their commercials.

My co-worker at the time bought a 2010 model new for his wife. But it was only like $51K. They upgraded from a F150 Lighting. AWD 450 hp or something, and it's a beast. With newish tires you can goose it from a stop and it just launches. The only thing I've ever driven that does it like that is the GT-R, which of course blows it out of the water (but I haven't driven all that many vehicles).

I will say it threw a rod less than 2K miles after they bought it, stranding his wife. But they had a Dodge dealer down the street from them at the time, and they took care of everything. She's put over 10K a year on it since the engine replacement with no real issues.

Oh and theirs is black with the Alcoa forged rims. Fuckin sexy as hell :yum:

It's a thread where a guy was trying to decide between building a home theater or buying a Nissan GTR. He went for the GTR. But then this other guy posted his wifes suv and just set me off. Calling Z's slow and under-performers. I'm old school I suppose and think a Jeep should look like a something that can actually climb a dirt road, not the hill into the grocery store parking lot.

I read it. Sounds like typical internet

It's not fair to compare the Z to the Jeep GC SRT8 just as it's not fair to compare the Jeep to a GT-R. That being said, there are some Jeeps near 1K hp that are running with some pretty fast GT-Rs.

Also, I'm surprised their 1/4 times in the 2014 aren't any better. I don't think my co-worker had a tune on his (I know he put a Borla exhaust on it), but he ran closer to 12 than 13 the few times he did run it.
